Your band just can't win. You may bring the fun, fun, fun, but Brian Wilson & his band + guest artists bring the fun, fun, fun.

https://youtu.be/LgZkGX8c7iE?t=475

I don't know who that little girl with the sunglasses is, but it's freakin' heartwarming watching her bust moves right next to the Brian Wilson. Watch those moves starting 12:04 into the vid. Hilarious and adorable.

And that Matt Jardine falsetto adds so much to the vocal blend. It ain't Brian Wilson in his prime, but this is a family band, and his voice adds to that "family blend" and just sounds infinitely better than those Chocolate Shake Man high notes. Mike n Bruce can keep that guy....

Very nice video - it was touching to see Brian and Carnie whisper to each other at the end of Fun Fun Fun.  I think Brian was nudging the little girl off the stage at the very end...

You didn't know? It's been a Mike & Brian tour contest for last 17 years. I surprised that the two haven't been found in the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge having a pissing competition.

Mike: Brian, the water sure is cold!
Brian: Yea, and it's deep too!

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
Amen.  ---hypehat

Up close it appeared he was asking Carnie to get the kids off the stage. She was so into her task she didnt hear Al thanking her for helping out on the ending of Fun Fun Fun

I saw Brian in Texas last night. Concerning Matt Jardine, he sounds more like Frankie Vallie to me than Brian. But that didn't bother me at all. Great show! Some nice surprises with Wake the World and Busy Doin Nothing.

Nobody in any touring incarnation of the Beach Boys or Brian’s band has ever really sounded a ton like the 60’s Brian. When Al, Bruce, and Carl were doing the falsetto parts in the mid-late 60’s, they probably came the closest.

I’d say of the non-BB “falsetto guys” we’ve had in the various bands, Matt Jardine is the best fit (both in the touring BB’s in the 80’s and 90’s and in Al and Brian’s bands). I don’t think he sounds at all like Frankie Valli (any more so than any falsetto voicing sounds vaguely like Valli). Adrian Baker, on the other hand, does have a very Valli-esque voice (I think he even toured with Valli for a short time at some point).

Al sounded JUST like Brian in the 60's, 70's, and even 80's when he'd sing falsetto.

A part of the reason Al sounded like Brian on falsettos has to do with the phrasing. Al has an incredible way of phrasing things like Brian.
