I'm curious.... does anyone actually OWN the Laughing Gravy 45??  It seems *incredibly* rare.  I can't even find the B-side online anywhere.

I did find a label scan of the "Vegetables" side - quite odd that it identifies it as being 'from the album Smiley Smile', when that's clearly not the same version!

It used to be HIGH on my list of wanted items( I have the DJ) as "Snowflakes on Laughing Gravy's Whiskers" was rumored to have Brian involvement; when that proved not to be true I stopped caring.

Eh, it'd still be cool to have as a "Smile" collectable.

I highly doubt I'd be able to afford one if it showed up, though!

What's your limit?  The two most recent sales of stock copies sold for $104 each

Yeah, too much.  I wouldn't even pay more than $50 for the Vigotone "Smile".  (Okay, I might have if it was absolutely necessary, but I found it for $50.)

Yeah, unfortunately the stock copies go for $100+ (or fortunately for me, since I own one!).  Promo copies with "Vegetables" on both sides go for about half that.  A case where there are more promos than stock copies, because promos survived in radio station libraries (and maybe some in Dean's garage!).  Very few stock copies were sent to stores, and even fewer were sold.  The rest probably went in the trash.

A few more examples:

"He's a Doll" by The Honeys b/w "The Love of a Boy and a Girl." White label promos are rare, but red label stock copes are almost non-existent.

The Beach Boys - "Surf's Up" and "Cool, Cool Water" 45s.  Try to find yellow Brother/Reprise stock copies.  Then try to find brown label Reprise stock copes.  Both are rare.

"It's as Easy as 1-2-3" by Jill Gibson (Jan Berry's girlfriend).  Stock copy has "Jilly's Flip Side" on the B-side; promo is double A-sided.

"Summertime Summertime" by Our Gang (Gary Zekley / Dean Torrence).  Stock copy has B-side of "Theme from Leon's Garage (Hal records scab dates there)"; promo is double A-sided.

Yeah, I know.  I have one too!  Smiley  But I didn't get mine until 1995 -- and I had to go to London to get that one.  Bought it from the late Epic Soundtracks at the Beach Boys Stomp Convention.

I don't check for J&D stuff, so I'm not certain how often Gibson and Our Gang appear.
Honeys stock is definitely rare; but the ONE most obscure of everything listed is the Steamboat( Brown Reprise) Cool Cool Water. All the rest get sold now and then.

As far as I'm concerned, these three stock copies are very rare:

Cool, Cool Water/Forever
Surf's Up/Don't Go Near The Water
You Need A Mess Of Help/Cuddle Up

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Yes, of course, your personal want list.   You willing to pay a couple of hundred each? Because that's what they seem to have been selling for lately.
