Been listening to a lot of newer pop/r&b and hip-hop, but hardly any rock. I was thinking of getting into Arcade Fire, White Stripes, Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys. Perhaps Coldplay and Killers. Can't think of many bands really - what do you guys recommend?

Arcade Fire's
Neon Bible
in my opinion is a must-hear. Their debut,
Funeral
, is pretty good too.
The Heist
(Macklemore and Ryan Lewis) is very cool but you probably know that one already.

Check into Spoon. A VERY consistent band. My particular favorite albums are
Kill the Moonlight
and
Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
; their new one,
They Want My Soul,
is also very good.

My fav indie rock band of the 2000s is The Long Winters. Good starting point is their second album,
When I Pretend to Fall.

- The Strokes (the early stuff; last 2 albums were too electronic for me, there a some very good songs though)
- Arctic Monkeys
- The Kooks (same problem as The Strokes...)
- The View
- Fleet Foxes (if you like the Beach Boys harmonies... there you go)
- Kings of Lion
Some are more pop, some are more folk, but you've got rock all over them, specially in the Strokes and Arctic.

I'm not really a pure rock guy, but here are a few bands from the '00s and '10s that I think are worth a listen.
- White Stripes and Jack White. You mentioned the White Stripes, and I will just second the motion: give them (and Jack White) a listen. It's not just rock by any means, but it's got plenty of that.
- The Delgados. A late 90s to mid-00s Glasgow band with some softer, melodic, and epic stuff, but (especially on the earlier things) there is rock. Here is "Under Canvas Under Wraps," admittedly from the late 90s but giving the idea.

- Voxtrot. A mid-00s short-lived band on the softer, more precious side of rock. But it qualifies. Here is their energetic "The Start of Something":

- The Fiery Furnaces. Still semi-active band that is way too complicated and quirky to be called just rock, but every now and again, up pops something straight out of the Who or, in this case, almost Beefheart. This is "I'm Going Away":

Panic At The Disco are quite good and worthy of a mention.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions, I'll be checking them out.
Any fans of Green Day? Are their albums worth getting into?

I like them. Kerplunk!, Dookie, Insomniac, and American Idiot are definitely worth checking out.
