I'm hoping that someone on this board might be able to provide some details regarding the origin and authenticity of this sleeve. SMiLE Holland is keen to add it to the Beach Boys on 45 website and would like to include some information about it. It's a single-sided sheet without any distinguishing features.

According to a renowned fellow BB collector, there is at least one other copy owned by another collector (who reckons that it's legitimate).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this an actual sleeve, or a one-sided insert?

My take is, it's home-made. The little hand-drawn stars, the differing type faces, the fact it's one-sided and, above all, the overall amateurish quality (and the horrible color). This was the first release for Reprise, and I can't see them putting it out in something so inferior. And without a label logo and a catalog number.

That's what I was thinking.

The original Warner's sleeve for this single didn't have artwork - maybe it's just an amateurish sleeve like the one I made for my Kenny & The Cadets single.....

Or another scenario - maybe a sleeve for a proposed 45 boot that never materialized, like the red "KPUK" sleeve. But that can't be it unless it's the alternate "Add Some Music".   Tongue

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

The typeface looks hand-drawn to me … very carefully, but hand-drawn.
