Oh no, my "funny" caption was 99% accurate. Stamos has led Mike, Scott, John, Gary and co into the Eagles… Bruce is now the only person left in the Beach Boys.

Mike's backing vox here are some of the best he's done in 50 years…

Notice how Mike spends the first verse fixing his microphone and then casually slips behind J.Stamos and basically does nothing after that. He is in fact completely inaudible.

Vid should be titled "Hotel California - Don Felder, John Stamos & Scott Totten (performed in the presence of Mike Love, but where is Bruce?)"

Don't forget John Cowsill and Gary Griffin, both actively contributing…

… and the chap unnamed in a stetson at the far back on (I assume) that lovely sounding bass.

Have watched that three times now and like it more every time… Scott, Gary and John do a great job backing Felder and (I assume in my ignorance) his bassist.  I can't hear barely a trace of Stamos's bongos after the intro and assume he was there as eye candy for the (slightly) younger generation.

Is that at a lawyer's convention- Don and Mike presenting on how to have frequent lawsuits involving members of your rock and roll group.
Seriously, though it does sound cool and laid back.

And to think that Mike nearly got sued last year by the Eagles' for his press statment regarding the end of The Beach Boys' tour.....

“There are promoters who are interested [in more shows by the reunited lineup], but they’ve said, ‘Give it a rest for a year.’ The Eagles found out the hard way when they went out for a second year and wound up selling tickets for $5.”"

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

With Scott T having joint my list of BBs related heroes last year as a result of seeing him on the C50 tour, it is great to see him taking part in such a cool and unique performance.  Can see he's having a blast when he and The Eagles chap harmonise on the guitar solo towards the end.

Shame Mike is a little peripheral.

I think Mike might be contributing the odd line but it's inaudible and the cameras aren't on him during the harmonies. Scott gives it his all… what a trooper! If there was such a things as career progression in BBs land, he'd be a prime candidate for promotion to BADbeach, along with Scott. Hey, there's no such thing as too many guitarists or percussionists/drummers, right?

Just for clarity, Stamos is playing congas, not bongos...the percussionist in me wants everyone to know the difference.
