Any fans of Jeff's solo work? I've had his "Best of" comp (import) for a little while and I like his vocals and the arrangements on some of the tracks. Some are blatant Pet Sounds homages, such as "Nowhere", some are more original. I sampled some of his full albums over at iTunes and liked what I heard. His cover of "This Could Be The Night" is better than Brian's, I think. I don't download from iTunes, but at least there are some lengthy 1:30 samples - you can really get the notion of liking or disliking a track this way.

Unfortunately, most of the physical releases are OOP and costly.

Here's his cover of an obscure DC5 track:

It's been a while since I last listened to his solo stuff but I remember I quite liked most of it. I still have Thru My Window and Stars In The Sand stored away somewhere.

Also, don't forget his stuff with The Pranks.

I have the Thru My Window CD and it's an engaging listen if you're into somewhat overt Beach Boys homages. He nails a lot of the sounds; what's missing are amazing songs (the title track is just about my favorite).

I may be the only one but I never had the impression that Wondermints sounded like a BBs rip-off. On the contrary - I think they sound very inspired and original. Huh

Dislike it except "Thru My Window", even if it's IKTAA derivative.

Lime is food? Yep.

Mandarin and Clementine went to meet the entire citrus gang, nobody ate people.

Not familiar with Jeff's stuff but dissing the Wondermints sounds dumb to me -- a lot of good music from that quarter.
