Yes...she's gone.

"The Monkey's Uncle."

The beach movies.

And before that....

well, let Tim Page, Pulitzer Prize-winning music critic and memoirist, tell it as he just did on Facebook:

"A lovely woman who suffered horribly for too much of her life. I remember watching reruns of "Mickey Mouse Club" when I was a kid and my brother and I (aged eight and five) thought she was so beautiful that we would sometimes kiss the screen as she said "goodbye.""

They couldn't have been alone in doing that.  Requiescat in pacem.

Love the Beach Party movies. She made an album that covered many Beach Boy  / Jan and Dean songs and included Monkey's Uncle. Rest in Peace, Annette.   Cry

I can't forget that she appeared in the Monkees movie 'Head'. She did a reunion movie 'Back to the Beach' in the 1980's. There were a lot of special guest appearances and cameos in that one.

Sad news to hear, although from a recent news report I watched, her quality of life had been horrible for quite some time due to her MS, so I hope that wherever she is, she isn't suffering anymore.  RIP.

She was one of the few stars that was just as nice as her image made her seem. Suffer no more, princess.  Sad

if it is not in remission, that disease is not pretty. my sister, who died in 2000, had it for 14 years. what it does to the body over the course of the disease is a terrible sight to see...esp in a loved one.

It truly is a horrible disease, RIP Annette.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Damn I missed this. I've loved that film since I was a young kid (but didn't know the Beach Boys played on it until years later)

Sad news indeed and she was apparently sick for many years. I have yet to go through the Beach Party film genre but now I feel enticed to do so. Sounds like real products of its time.

Also, like I'm sure Mike agrees to, she was a dashing, good looking girl back in those days!
