Just had a listen to the, erm, "album" Spotify Playlist", available for download on iTunes and Amazon.

Strongly suggest everyone avoids this with a barge pole… longest "track" is 19 seconds, yet each "track" costs 89p (Amazon) or 99p (iTunes), or buy the whole "album" for £7.49/£7.99.

Utter garbage. The "tracks" are so short that you can hear the entire thing in Preview, and hear it all within about three minutes.

Which genius thought of marketing this drivel?

Rant over, just to say "avoid".

Unless anyone knows something I don't…

This makes no sense.  Spotify is a free streaming service, it has nothing to do with Amazon or iTunes.  But now that I've looked, I've found that iTunes is carrying some unauthorized releases.  One is a live version of Surfin' Safari and another is an album called "Live&Alternative Songs."  These are both obvious bootlegs.  So, yeah, avoid those.
