Im not sure how many of you are flaming lips fans but I think this is going to come out pretty neat.  Wayne coyne was tweeting about this yesterday.  http://www.mobypicture.com/user/waynecoyne/view/12299334

Any thoughts?

Yeah I'm a Lips fan. They're doing GOK, obviously. Could be good.

Would've been cool to hear them tackle some more 'unknown' track, though... everybody does GOK...

I love the Lips, so I'm interested. Do we need a weird cover of GOK? No. But I'll happily buy it if it doesn't cost $150 and come in an edible gummy fetus

Exactly.

I'm surprised they didn't do something from SMILE. Seems more up their alley.

Mojo's done some classic albums covered by various artists in recent months - The Wall and Abbey Road spring to mind. Maybe they're planning Pet Sounds for later in the year? Some of these have also been released on vinyl as well as CD. Here's hopin'.

I have a stack of those Mojo cds and never listen to them, but this could be cool.

Agreed, would've been nice to hear them cover a more obscure track but will be interested to hear their take as also a Lips fan.

Lips doing "do you like worms" would be awesome.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Yeah, something like that.

I'd be interested to hear the Flaming Lips record a version of SMILE like they did of Dark Side Of The Moon.

Their Dark Side Of The Moon wasn't that spectacular, but yeah, SMiLE material would be more up their alley.

Looking forward to a Mojo presents Pet Sounds CD for the time being...  Smiley

I'd be much more interested if they covered "Celebrate the News" or "My Solution" or even "All I Wanna Do"... but this is neat too, I guess. Hopefully it'll be at least decent.

The 6 hour song was on their Soundcloud - haven't listened to it all, mind, but I got about 4 hours in.

As for the 24 hour song.... god knows. I'm sure it's about on the web. Might never listen to it, though....

Both the 6 hour song and the 24 hour song are both still out there, still streaming.  The 6 hour song in on youtube, but the guy who uploaded it told me he tried to upload the 24-hour song and his computer crashed.

dl's are abound too...

Also, not BB-related but FLips-related...  Anyone hear the new audio documentary on the making of Hit To Death In The Future Head?  They discuss the multitrack masters and dissect the sounds on there...  Pretty cool!
