so i'm watching this clip of barbra ann wondering what alan jardine's secret is. i mean he's short and has giant ears but he radiants a quiet self assurance at times - a charming exuberance. anyway- look at brian, you can tell: this man will go totally insane, pretty soon.

brian's voice- so weird. he looks cool here though, very full stature, standing tall. rocks pretty good into the song. just imagine if they did THE LITTLE GIRL I ONCE KNEW with bruce on organ! or SLOOP JOHN BE.

His secret? No stress. Just do what you're told and watch the money roll in. No writing to do, no producing, no arranging, no managing… sh*t, he didn't even have to decide what shirt to wear that day.   :D

Actually I think Brian sounds great. None of the live versions without him (or any post sixties really) are as good.

The Hawaii tapes with Brian doing it were really cool in my opinion because he was going back to basics after SMiLE was canceled.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Yeah I meant weird in a good way. His voice gets so good it gets weird. How does he do it? This big guy sings like that! His voice adds so much life to the whole thing, adds in the missing color on the high end.
