AGD was very helpful back in the 80's for supplying me with cassettes of unreleased BB's stuff that was to give me aural orgasms.

I still have those old cassettes hanging around somewhere so cheers again Andrew.

Oh, and beards rule  Wink

I note Bruce has been wearing a cap for the last few years in concert. Is he now going through a Mike phase?

More like a bald phase.

Heh......just what I was thinking Grin

I think for every shitty story like that lady had, there's a good story to equal it regarding internet romance.

That's what I reckon anyway  Grin

Barry has been criminally overlooked for a long time, he should have 40-50 caps by now, not 10!!!

Ashley Young is going to turn into a fantastic little winger too

I'm an Aston Villa supporter, have been for over 30 years. Current season ticket holder with my 12 year old son.

No gloryhunting for me..............

And may I say what a fantastic new owner/chairman we have in Randolph Lerner?

There is a lot said today in the game about foriegn owners of English football clubs, but our new American owners have been FANTASTIC.

They work in conjunction with supporters to make the club a better place; they look after us, making matchdays a better experience (off the pitch!); they have employed a top class manager, and they supply him with the money he requires.

Also, non-executive director General Charles Krulak actually posts on the Villa fansite I use, answering supporter questions and getting feedback to pass on to the Chairman.

I doubt any other club can boast that!
8  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Purchased my first Beach Boys album in 2006... and I am 48! on: November 04, 2007, 06:04:10 AM
I got into the Beach Boys in 1976 - here in England thats when "20 Golden greats" was released with a massive advertising backup.
In those days and at age 13, info about the band was VERY hard to come by, so I started going into the city centre every Saturday to see what else I could find by the band. My next two purchases were "Spirit Of America" (a single album over here) and 15 Big Ones.
Obviously Big Ones had some new material on it, and has since been held by me as a personal fave. I was totally hooked.

Then I discovered a second hand record store called Reddingtons......after that I never had any spare money!!! I began purchasing all the 45's that store had in stock. I got hold of Pacific Ocean Blue in Woolworths in 1978!!!

After a lull in my buying antics for a few years the advent of eBay really did for me. I now have over 400 45s....all the LP's bar a couple of compilations, a few bootlegs, all the CDs, books, pic sleeves, demos/promos......a total addiction.

Of course the internet has been a massive help in obtaining lots of unreleased material  Grin

DoLorean’s most recent album “You Can’t Win” includes an instrumental song called “33-53.9 N, 118-38.8 W.”. This is the location where Dennis Wilson was buried (at sea).

Thanks for that - I'm going to investigate that track right now......... Wink

Like its mentioned above, loads of bands have recorded in other countries, but I think the Boys are pretty unique in shipping their own studio thousands of miles in hundreds of crates!!!

Makes you wonder why the longer version of "I was made to love her" wasn't released......the acapella bit thats left out of the released version is fantastic

I liked it, it was one of the first Beach Boys books I ever read.

After reading this, and other tomes, am I alone in wanting to rearrange Rocky Pamplin and Stan Loves faces with a baseball bat???
