I found this curios item on e-bay, and I was just wondering if it's real or not.
I just asked Stevie. He says it's legit: "Yes where did you get this? It is real. I gave it to Carl who would sell it? There are a few Hard Backs somewhere too. For charities people have paid thousands and when Brian signs even more. However we do not get a penny or usually i give to charity but one day i might do a limited edition signed but i would feel guilty charging this much. love, stevie"

Saw it a few weeks ago - fascinating indeed, but the total absence of Walter/Wendy Carlos - they weren't so much as alluded to, much less mentioned - proved to be an almost insurmountable flaw. Carlos pretty much single-handedly brought the Moog to the attention of the general public with such albums as Switched On Bach and The Well-Tempered Synthesizer. Considering he/she collaborated with Moog on the development of his synth, that's some major omission.
She probably declined to be involved. There were a lot of other important omissions in that film; also too much live concert footage for my tastes. And why was DJ Spooky there?? He's never played a Moog in his life.

Open now until the end of 2013 MADE IN CALIFORNIA AN EXCLUSIVE BEACH BOYS EXHIBIT AT THE FENDER VISITOR CENTER The Beach Boys' haunting harmonies have been integral to the evolution of the West Coast sound and the carefree mentality of 1960s California surf culture. Their celebrated catalog, including the experimental 1966 milestone Pet Sounds, has also been lauded as one of the most ambitious and influential studio efforts in rock ‘n’ roll history. To commemorate the release of the Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary box set retrospective, Made in California, the Fender Visitor Center is exhibiting an impressive collection of Beach Boys memorabilia, including a reproduction of the band’s iconic striped shirts and a custom-built replica of the surfboard featured on the cover of the early ’60s LPs “Surfin' Safari” and “Surfer Girl.” Period-correct Fender guitars inspired by those on the historic 1964 Beach Boys Concert LP, along with rare vintage photography of Beach Boys guitarist Carl Wilson touring the Fender factory, will also be on display. This limited engagement features artwork from renowned illustrator John Van Hamersveld, the creative mind behind the album art for the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour, the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street and the Endless Summer film soundtrack.

I always felt it was gracious of Al to 'let' Dennis sing one of the few hit leads he sang on.
Do we know that's how it happened? Maybe Al wasn't happy about it(?)
