You 1st said "Uptown Girl is okay". Now you say it is good song. I'm not native English speaker but, I read in studying there's big difference between (just) "okay" & "good". No, Liz?
C'mon Marianne!* (Sorry, couldn't resist!) I should have said Uptown Girl was "good", although "okay" could also mean "good". If I didn't think it was good I would have qualified it by saying the song was "just okay". * one of my favorite later Four Seasons songs

As for Uptown Girl I think it is a good song. Haven't heard it in a good while until just now since I rarely listen to the 1980s channel. Guess it's unfair to Billy Joel, but I can't get out of my head the memory of a friend of mine poking fun at Christie Brinkley's attempt at dancing on the music video. Of course there's no way my friend and I would have had the guts to attempt to dance on a video.
I have mixed feelings about Frankie Valli. Didn't care for his falsetto on Sherry. However IMO he hit a grand slam with that wonderful falsetto at the end of Rag Doll.

I remember seeing a video of the 2012 era Beach Boys. They were discussing the Grammy Awards and that Good Vibrations lost for 1966. Brian acted surprised and asked what song won. When told it was a Mamas and the Papas song his reaction was priceless. Don't know if he was pulling their legs or if he had truly forgotten that GV didn't get a Grammy but it was so funny! Wish I could find that video.

Re: We Three Kings:
I gave the song a "5" because the instrumentation and vocals were both stellar. But because the vocals sound so incredible I wish that there was a vocals only track, such as they have for a number of other BBs songs, as intricacies in the vocals are buried when mixed in with the instruments. Oh, those harmonies!

I do wonder if Landy's team had Brian on meds that increased his metabolism because he became more fit at an age when most people start to put on weight.
They had him working his ass off with weights and running - that will do it, too. Don't have the book handy right now, but remember reading in The Wilson Project Brian telling Gary Usher how tired he was all the time.

I thought it amazing that there were five original songs on this album. How many rock/pop groups did that? The first two have been on the radio constantly. Wish they'd play Santa's Beard. I think of that photo of the three little Wilson brothers visiting Santa, and, after the picture was taken, Dennis being the one to test out that beard LOL

Was reading about the Doors' final concert which took place in my city on 12 December 1970. Jim Morrison was a mess by that time and during one of the songs suddenly became catatonic. The rest of the band left for a while until he recovered, at which time he went on a tirade, banging the microphone stand into The Warehouse's stage floor with such force that it created a hole (which at least for some years was not repaired due to its musical historic importance). The rest of the band decided that there would be no more concerts, and a few months later Morrison met his end in Paris. What a sorry business.

Cherry trees are beautiful. The ones around here bloom in early Spring.
Went to the store and heard a lame cover of Little Saint Nick. The singer sang Run Run Reindeer in such a way as to not spur them on but with the result of keeping them stuck in neutral gear.
Opened a box of battery powered Christmas lights. On the list of instructions, obviously not written by a native English speaker, was the following: "6. To avoid the batteries and wiring dip into water." Oooookaaay!
Then heard on a TV show how much a donkey liked John Stamos, will leave it at that...

Finally saw Deja Vu yesterday. This movie was filmed in 2006. I was still a Katrina Nomad then, not returning for good until late summer 2007. But I would have to go into town on occasion having to cross the bridge over the Mississippi River. There was an announcement on the radio letting us know not to freak out if we hear explosions around the bridge. Those explosions were in conjunction with this movie. As for Deja Vu I thought it was silly even though I'm a Denzel Washington fan. However Don't Worry Baby never sounded better.
Then I saw Lassie Come Home. Animal stories always tear me up. When Lassie limped to the school to meet the little boy I was blubbering like a baby LOL.
