Like the new ava, NBBF. Louis Wain, right?
Good guess, but it's actually from a tapestry made by Dom Robert, a Benedictine monk. He made beautiful tapestries depicting scenes from the Bible. This particular tapestry was from the Gospel of Luke when Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. This little feline is known as "Magnifi Cat." ( the Magnificat is the prayer of praise Mary says during that visit). A dear friend of mine had access to a button machine. He made a button of this kitty and gave it to me.

There have been a few snippets featuring Brian. In one, an interviewer asked him how he created music, if he heard it all in his head first. He said no, he did all composition creating on the keyboard. He added that he couldn't think it all beforehand in his head because... He "wasn't that good."

Finally hearing the Today! version of Kiss Me Baby now. Played a nice Bruce and Terry song - Four Strong Winds. Enjoy hearing the anecdotes before the songs. Before I Get Around Al talked about the group working on the song at Marilyn’s family’s house. At the end Al said that what he best remembers is “the chicken soup” Oh, they played Ganz Allein a few minutes ago.

They keep playing that version of Kiss Me Baby. Can't listen to more than a few seconds of it.
I also heard Lavender this morning. I hope that they will put some intro to songs like that, indicating that they were from the earliest sessions.
I've never heard many of these songs on the radio before. The 60s songs sound great.

Libraries have evolved with the times. Our libraries have plenty computers available for free to patrons who have a library card. Printers are available with a small charge per page. There are still many people who don't have home computers - maybe they can afford one but can't afford the cost for the internet connection in their homes. That's why I get ticked off when, during hurricane season, a radio or television station says "if you want more information about evacuation shelters, Please visit our web page." Argh! Granted, a lot have smartphones but many, especially older people, do not.
As for digital books, I used to buy them frequently. Nowadays I need to budget more, and my eyes prefer that I hold a real book. So I am once again frequenting the library. I like to browse the shelves. Or if I want to check out a particular book - for example, I'm interested in reading a new biography of Paul Simon, I can go online and request that it be sent to my branch. There is interlibrary loan available as well. If you have a library card you can use several apps to request a book your town's library doesn't have, and it will be delivered.
As for reading books at bookstores the larger chainstores such as Barnes & Noble don't seem to mind people reading their books in the store.

I didn't know it was called "catloaf". Yes, Mr Fuzzy and our other cats have done that pose. In our family, we call it "doing cute", as in "come see Minnie Cat, she's doing cute." 🐱🐱🐱

Yes Mr Fuzzy lived a fairly long life (I say “fairly” because it’s becoming more common for indoor cats to live into their twenties). He had some health problems early on but had been healthy since early 2005. He was pretty active, loved to play and greet people, and was best buddies with BooBoo the dog. I took the photo in the avatar at the beginning of this year, a month or so before he started losing a lot of weight. The Vet thought it was a infection and not renal failure (the downfall of most of our cats). We found a spot at our place in the woods to bury him this afternoon. I’ll plant some flowers there later.

Mr Fuzzy - 2001-2018 I've been nursing my dear cat for a while, but he has now gone on to cat heaven. He and I had been through lots of ups and downs through the years. He was always a sweet, friendly little guy who everybody loved. I'm going to miss him terribly.

It'll be interesting to see what materializes. I might consider a trial (I think my cable provider used to air SiriusXM channels, but now they use some crummy "Music Choice" service).
DISH Satellite TV has Sirius XM, starting at channel 6002. Had it on Deep Tracks channel this evening ( 6027) and heard "Don't Talk..." Unfortunately some of the channels have different programming from what you would hear on their radio or app. Channel 6004, which corresponds to channel 4, plays techno dance music; on the radio or app they're playing "wedding music" until Thursday. GOK is on regular rotation there. Also can't get the Beatles or Tom Petty channels, but can get Elvis and Bruce Springsteen. Just heard promo for station. Someone (Al?) said "Brian had figured it out." Yep.

That's a good question - why the canned laughter? I've never liked it. I can only surmise that it's an attempt by the powers that be to tell viewers "you might not think so but this really is funny!" Like there's something wrong with you in thinking the jokes are lame. I tried sitting through an episode of one of the most popular TV comedies presently - Big Bang Theory . Call me a Grumpy Gussie, but I didn't as much as crack a smile but that laugh track was going bananas.

Sirius XM announced today that there will be a station dedicated to The Beach Boys. It will be on channel 4 and run through the summer. I’m assuming that as in other stations of this sort they will also have music from other groups such as Jan and Dean etc This will start on Thursday May 24
