I'm not familiar with "POTP." But then I'm not up on a lot of things nowadays.
I think most High Schools have marching bands. They play at their team sports events and March in parades. There are some schools however that have dropped Music programs due to lack of money.
I looked up what that "bottle" was. It's a bottle with a dropper in it. If you want a cat to calm down, place a few drops on its fur and rub it in. The bottle contains herbs that calm cats down - but the info didn't list the herbs. Some cats apparently are allergic to those herbs so caution is needed when using for the first time.
Yes, Jackson Galaxy is a real guy. He has a show on television, maybe you can find clips of it online. It's called My Cat From Hell. He takes cats who are so bad that their owners are about to get rid of them, and turns them into adorable fur babies.

I went to an all girls high school. Some girls schools (such as my Mom's school) have bands but most in our area do not. We had a choir, also some sports teams - Volleyball, basketball, softball. I remember that Dominican High School was our main competition in basketball . We would chant, "DominiCAN'T! DominiCAN'T!" Unfortunately, they could. Never could beat them Don't know about a bottle. Hard to describe what Jackson Galaxy looks like. Let's just say that he's one of a kind. He's totally bald (or maybe just shaves his hair off), long sideburns and a wild beard. But it would be hard to find a greater cat lover. Read that his wife's name is "Minoo" (a common name for cats where I live). I don't put garments on my pets - they hate wearing anything.

I wasn't in a marching band because there wasn't one at my school. If we had one, I would have liked to try to play the clarinet. My school did have a choir. I didn't sing in it, but accompanied it by playing various percussion, xylophone, guitar, and alto recorder. Helped me to get an "Honors" grade in music.
Cats - am familiar with "crate." Another word for cat carrier, or kennel ( cage to keep cats in).
Rainbow Bridge - The thought that at the end of the rainbow good things happen. So when our pets cross the "rainbow bridge" it is hoped that they are going to be happy and healthy once again.
That's a good question, how to stop bullying in cats. I love Tanner, but she wants to be the number one cat so would get snippy around all the other cats. Jackson Galaxy has had success with "bad" cats. I'd be curious to check it out. Haven't had the experience of one cat family bullying another. In fact, the worst bullying I had to put up with was two sisters, Tasha and Shana. Poor Shana was a little "slow" and Tasha was merciless around her. Had to make sure they were separated as much as possible.
P.S . My present temporary avatar (as of 4 Oct 2019) is of aviation pioneer John Moisant and his cat Mademoiselle Fifi. Picture was taken in 1910.

'K. Next - FB link to marching band - big fan! - The Fort Payne Wildcats (Alabama high school MB). Jennifer, Scooter Bug/ Princess Tinkerbell cat page creator's son "brudder Nick" plays drums in it. They compete & win in each category, song performed - "To Build A Wonder". Anybody hear it b4? Cool clip with big band & flag dancers in big green field, looks like arena.
Thanks for this. Very interesting. Fort Payne is a town in Northern Alabama that's called itself the "sock capital" because of the factories there making socks. It's a beautiful area - there's a nearby state park we've gone to several times, that has waterfalls and gorges. What the band is playing is music from Scheherazade, a favorite of mine. "To build a wonder" looks like it refers to some fantasy game that I'm not familiar with but I see references to it using search engines. I love marching bands. Wish I could have been in one. My Father played trumpet in his band, and my mother played trombone in hers.

Checking 60+ cat stuffs, liking cat slang/ puns: ....... "I is ..." speech pattern
Addendum: peeps describe each fur baby "such a ham". Figured it's food. Looks like it may be used to tell cats nicety.
Yup. That about covers it. However, MY cats would never say "I is," LOL. Calling the cat "such a ham" means that kitty wants to be involved in everything, to be noticed. Which means that kitty is doing funny things.

Will have to check that Coltrane recording out.
Heard just what I needed driving home. One of my all time favorite songs, The Flamingos I Only Have Eyes for You. Getting out of the car at home, someone in the neighborhood was playing Grover Washington Jrs Funk/Smooth Jazz classic, Mr. Magic. Perfect song for a sultry afternoon. Yes it's Autumn technically, but it's definitely still Summer temperature wise today! Going inside, after listening to Russell Thompkins Jr's take on Don't Worry Baby, listened to the Stylistics' Betcha By Golly Wow. Great, relaxing listening all around.

Obviously from my POV the documentary has nowhere to go but down-let’s be honest modern country is mostly just pop music for non-urbanites. There’s not much to discuss after 1990 or so.....
That's generally my impression of modern country music as well. Hoping that perhaps the documentary might bring a pleasant surprise or two. I do like some of the post 1990 work, some of George Strait or Ricky Skaggs. But I don't listen to any of the radio stations playing modern country. I had to share an office for a few years with someone who had the local country station on. Most of the songs seemed overproduced and formulaic. There was one song in particular that drove me nuts and it was on heavy rotation . The refrain included lyrics where the guy didn't care that he "didn't know the difference between Iraq and Iran". Arggh!

I've taped all of the episodes but have only been able to watch the first one. Hope to be able to watch a couple tomorrow. I really enjoyed the first episode . I realize that there were so many greats in Country music over the past 90 plus years of recordings and some are not going to get their due. Hopefully those who haven't had stand alone documentaries will have them. Over the past few years I've seen docs on the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Johnny Cash, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson...
Ordered the Big book that is associated with this . It's supposed to have valuable info and photos. I'll either get it tomorrow or Monday.

I like movies that have good character development. The line "Get busy living or get busy dying" means different things during the course of the film. During the early parts Dufresne decides to make the best of a bad situation, to get busy living instead of vegetating in prison. So he helps to build a Library, tutor prisoners to pass their GED s (test to have them credited with finishing High School). Doing other stuff such as taxes for the staff and Warden helps bring other perks. However when the Big plot twist arrives (JK hasn't seen movie, so won't give spoiler ) The "Get busy living" line takes on an entirely new meaning. I also like Dufresne's friendship with Red. And the sad story of Brooks.
As for theaters showing these oldies, there's a national company (Fathom Events) that shows these movies, along with old TV shows and concerts, on movie screens throughout the U.S.. We also have a local theater that shows an old movie every week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. This week's movie is "After the Thin Man" from the 1930s.

Got the opportunity to go out to see a movie. Decided to go to one I saw once 25 years ago on the Big Screen and who knows how many times on television. Think I was drawn by the famous line in the film - "Get busy living or get busy dying." There will be a couple of other classics on the Big Screen next month. One is "Alien." Good movie but don't know if I could stomach ( so to speak) John Hurt's character's final moments. Think I will go to "Ghostbusters." Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever seen it.

Ha! What did you think of Hal? He was a bad boy.
And that ending. I saw it when it first came out as an 11 year old in early June 1968.* I saw it on a special screen - it was filmed by a process called "Cinerama". I saw it at a special theater that had a curved screen. Thought I was "trippin" while watching all those lights flying past, with the weird modern classical music.
*I always associate this movie with the assassination of Robert Kennedy, which took place Just a couple of days after seeing it.

I taped the Ryman concert and watched a part of it - tribute songs for Jimmie Rodgers, Sons of the Pioneers, Bob Wills, and Bill Monroe (and Earl Scruggs). Great so far. However, although the Carter Family was mentioned no song was played by them. Perhaps they'll honor them later in the program. This really shows the variety of forms "Country Music" has taken.
Really looking forward to the Ken Burns series.

Cat and dog pages are just about all FB is good for, outside of seeing photos of far flung family and nice posts from Brian and Al's pages.
Freezing? Not here. We are under a Heat Advisory, temperature feels like 42 C. Our "low" temperature tonight will be 27C. I've never known it to be this hot so late in the summer.
I do puzzles of all types to keep my mind going. If you mean jigsaw puzzles I love them but don't have a good place to do them. And Tanner the cat loves playing with the pieces.

Please be advised that I didn't see your post until I had made my post. (In other words we were writing posts at the same time) I need to check out Tiny Tim more. At the time I thought he was someone who came on the scene and was a star overnight. But read one of Bob Dylan's books and he said that Tiny Tim was part of the "pass the hat" coffeehouse scene in New York in the early 60s.
The song had a nice retro feel. However I can only take so much of his trilling at one time.

Thank you so much for posting this JK . Yes, I love this song. I'm okay - just dealing with something a loved one is going through (look up term Sundowning or Sundown Syndrome).
While paying bills and other fun stuff, listened to an album of Carl Perkins - Sun Recordings. Very enjoyable.

Saw Lawrence of Arabia yesterday on the big screen. I went alone as my sister, a huge TE Lawrence fan, was in the hospital and now needs oxygen - waiting for a portable tank. It was great to see the movie in a theater filled with fans - to not hear, "Good Lawd, this is only half over?" at the Intermission - and the conversation about the film and the actors An amusing thing happened while Lawrence and company made their long, dangerous trek through the desert on their way to Aqaba, trying not to die of thirst. I heard pounding all of a sudden on the roof of the theater. Heavy rain for a few minutes. : -)
