Really dude? This has to be the most bought up issue on this entire forum, literally look up "Why do you hate Mike Love" its a previous thread. We don't really need to re-hash this every time someone asks this question... I'm not trying to poo-poo your question but seriously...

One afternoon in February, the Beach Boys crowd into the control room at Ocean Way to listen to the suite. John Stamos, the actor (a serious Beach Boys fan who often performs with Mike Love's band), stands in the back, twirling his sunglasses. When the music ends, the room falls silent. Finally, Stamos breaks the ice. "Magical," he says. Love, sitting next to me on a leather couch, has another reaction, which he demonstrates by putting his fingers into the shape of a gun, placing it under his chin and shooting himself in the head. "It's brilliant, beautiful, but I didn't write it, so it doesn't have that silver cloud on the cumulus nimbus," he says. "It's more cumulus than I probably would do." http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/the-beach-boys-last-wave-20120621Good lord that is a cringey quote... I mean can you imagine the faces of the other band members when he said this? Then imagine listening to this for almost 50 years. The man really lacks perception

I don't understand Bruce's motivation sometimes... do you think he genuinely thought this was going to be popular/form some sort of fan base for his own style of arranging? I wouldn't be caught dead listening to this and I will defend even some of the sappiest stuff by Bruce (and to a less extent the Boys)

Howdy y'all I'm just interested in seeing how you guys feel about the Bee Gees. Overall I think they are HUGELY underrated and were one of the first bands I ever loved. What's the consensus/individual opinions of you guys?

Grabbing some dinner after the Detroit soundcheck and meet & greet. Brian is in great voice and was really in charge during the soundcheck. Johnny B. Goode was introduced as not being done in a very long time. Here is what was played: California Saga (w/o Brian) Johnny B. Goode (w/o Brian) Johnny B. Goode Surfer Girl Salt Lake City Sail Away With limited wifi, Johnny B. Goode is the only video I have uploaded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqLeEcPO2gEAs for the meet & greet, you are still able to get any two items signed by the guys. Most folks were doing just the poster and GOK lyric sheet. Here is what I got: [/URL] Review of the show will have to wait a few days, as I have a 2.5 hour drive home and then on a plane first thing in the morning. This made me all fan squealy Seconded! Damn what a collection

No Pier Pressure "worst" tracks ("Runaway Dancer", "Don't Worry", the Peter Hollens tune) don't seem as bad. I esp. like "Don't Worry"; features some of best current Brian vocs plus it's catchy.
I'm going to go the other way with this, while I don't think NPP is bad because it certainly isn't I find that there isn't much direction in the album and find it hard to listen to many of the tracks because out of context they can seem sort of soulless (see Runaway Dancer, Sail Away etc...)
