Gutted to hear this. Having only been lucky enough to see recent incarnations of Mike and Brian’s bands he’s felt absolutely essential to the narrative of this band.

I’m sure it’s not possible but I usually use the Internet on my phone. I find using smiley smile through Safari a pain to be honest. I don’t suppose there is an app that allows me to use the features in a more iPhone friendly way? I’m pretty sure there isn’t but thought I’d ask :-)

I concur with the opinion of greatness. I didn't take to it on the first couple of listens but it's seriously become one of my favs. I also love all the spoken words stuff as well which sometimes gets a slating...

yeah well, the guy is 74, nearly 75. that alone. give him a break, let alone everything else he has had to deal with.

I agree. The main thing that stood out to me in the m&g was how frail Brian is. It was like seeing your grandad. Then he comes out on stage and treats us to THAT show. Wow, if I can rock half as hard at him at 60 I'll be delighted!!!!

I bought the VIP meet and greet package for the Manchester show last night. I didn't really know what to expect. There were about 35 of us and we were ushered into the hall to see the soundcheck which was great. It was like a mini concert. Lots of stage banter going on between Brian and Al and they were asking audience if sound was ok etc. Then the people who just had the soundcheck package were asked to leave. It was just one person though and he said rather meekly "just me then ?" and left. Then we queued up for the meet and greet. Brian, Al and Blondie were at the table. We had to hand our stuff to sign over to someone else then we were each asked to stand behind the table for the photo which were taken with our own cameras, phones. I asked Al to personalise my autograph which he did but then Brian instructed me to stand behind the table for the photo. After the photo was taken I got my chance for a handshake off all three then I stood near to the table to see the rest of the people go through the meet and greet. There was hardly any conversation at all apart from Brian bursting into a rendition of "Honking Down The Highway" whilst pointing at my friend ! One thing I did notice was Brian kept saying to his security "how many more ?" then rather hurridly departed after the last meet and greet. It was worth every penny though to meet these musical legends.

TODAY IS THE DAY! 

 My meet and greet with the big man and chance to watch him live for the first time. Excited is not the word! Watching the clock tick, tick, tick so bloody slowly!

 So anyone else on here doing the meet n greet? I don't think I'll be leaving the venue before the gig to join others in the pub but more than happy for general chat pre and break in the venue. I'll be the excited looking one in a 'Love You' T-shirt

I take it you are referring to the Manchester gig? I'll be there, but not for the m&g. What pub is everyone meeting?

That clip of Brian and Van Dyke at the piano playing/singing Orange Crate Art is one of my favourite things. I'd have liked to have heard the whole album played like that.

 In life - sometimes something becomes a mission for you and this is one of mine: I want the WHOLE DAMN SONG! - In the film it is clearly just a segment and it is 99% likely that the whole thing was filmed which means (even it's just on DW's raw footage) a whole audio of OCA played like that exists. I MUST HAVE IT!

 Does anyone have a direct line to DW or any leads or ideas on how to achieve my goal. Trust me, fellow SS's, I will deliver this song to you....somehow.....

The Wilson Project is a great book if you can find it at a palatable price...
