54 unrealeased recordings.  I am presuming  these ARE unrealeased.....not doubling tracks from MiC or such

Looks like Spin thought so -- or put it in to fill a marketing gap

Well done. Now I see it again...no cream, it is more white..

Re cover art........my only source so far is Spin CDS, Newcastle...online....and they show a cover with a cream band or strip across top and bottom thirds . In between is art which looks to be culled from Smiley Smile.

SPIN CDs of Newcastle show the 2 CD set at £12.99. Now, I regard that price as a bargain considering all these tracks !!!!!

(I am not pushing Spin, btw.....merely surprised at the low price

Yes, am sure you are right, more's the poty. I guess my practical wish is for this line up to somehow capture its best and let us hear it....even if we are on other continents and cant always be in the 3,000 ticket buyers on a particular night.

I think Don was alive when he did the show though 😉
108  Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smile Reference Threads / Re: Stamos on UK Tour on: May 12, 2017, 04:42:02 AM
To be fair....he seems to know his percussion.....and maybe some guitar. But if tries that prancing and showboating (to the detriment of the real band) it could go down very badly. I can hear my daughter now as she accompanies me to that gig "who''s the dancing fool?". To which O would ask simply  "Why ?!". Might a brass or woodwind player or 2 or 3 not be much better Huh

I am attending two BEACH BOYS concerts then. This stooge better not spoil those

BB Britain Board. Also, a report re Montrose show. With any luck, maybe he will only donMontrose. I dont want to see him cutting in front of real singers and players. He means nothing to me in terms of even the licensed band. The youtube material I have seen suggest he has no place being there---although I do "get" why he sells seats.......in America ....
111  Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smile Reference Threads / Stamos on UK Tour on: May 12, 2017, 01:11:42 AM
Credible report that John Stamos will be on the UK BB tour in a few weeks. I am less than impressed and consider this a serious miscalculation by ML. I doubt Stamos prancing antics will go down all that well over here. If I am lucky , he might not be at all the gigs. No wish to see a fan/actor distracting from great music and professional harmonies.

Anyone got an idea of when

 1. Wild Honey stereo etc  complete info might be forthcoming  for summer ?

2.  When ---if ever -- Live in Michigan concert digital downloads will get issued in UK ?   ( I find it a disgrace that UK fans have been ignored with this one )

3. When --if ever -- the touring BB might seek authority to change the licence so as to release new material ?  I believe the band's profile has suffered by the absence of new recordings. Radio coverage almost completely disappearing  IMO.

Think there was a Tonya. Mike L ?? Must check his book..it is  upstrs. It could well be...........

Footage is not from any 30th anniversary in UK....our tv folks were never kind enough. It might be, from the look of it, from a German concert . There is similar footage kicking around.

Does anyone know the download release date for this set in UK  through Amazon ?
116  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Graduation Day 1966: Live At The University Of Michigan on: December 10, 2016, 09:15:50 AM
Yes, in early days it was handy to keep the audience engaged while tuning up went on ........at length, roadies were relatively a new thing and tuning pedals etc. Plus, talking or "filling in" could mean you had one or two less songs to rehearse  😀

Wonderful !!!  A real gem , well done both of you. David, you were one of the reasons I began following the BB .......please do more like this    🙋

It was reported at the time. I thought it would kill their career (like, who can replace BW?). Was in high school......knew of Glen Campbell so figured it could be alright. Then heard Today...and thought Help Me Ronda had two bass vocalists ( it was poor mix of Mikes double tracking. I never knew !!).

a double CD of that track listing from the filming in 1965 wd be my personal Holy Grail. It would bring their humour and genuine live style ......like Rocker, Command Performance has a certain 'smoothness; that is almost an unnecessary polish. Rock music--surf music--should have flaws, it makes it more real but no less enjoyable

120  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: The Jan & Dean Record - Mark A. Moore on: August 04, 2016, 02:03:19 AM
Hey, thank you so VERY much for all this info.  That track listing is tantalising.....even with some flubs ( live, after all) it should be allowed a release. The guys were in many ways underrated.......... ; just my opinion, but most of the potential buyers would be u derstanding of the situation at the time and related events. Would be good to have the live feel to the humour too
121  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: The Jan & Dean Record - Mark A. Moore on: August 02, 2016, 09:26:12 AM
Any prospect of UK release for your book ?
122  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: The Jan & Dean Record - Mark A. Moore on: August 02, 2016, 09:25:16 AM
I have waited many years to know this. Any chance of release ?  A pity for the company not to even offer downloads........😆
123  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: The Association... on: May 29, 2016, 02:54:49 AM
And, in case you are unaware of tv production, backing tracks are done by bands...sometimes with a few session players added, because the tv companies insist.
124  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: The Association... on: May 29, 2016, 02:31:46 AM
Parts.......
125  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: The Association... on: May 29, 2016, 02:28:51 AM
Yes, professor, right to be disheartened by incorrect facts, since the guys played on many tracks.
. stonehenge album, for example.
