I love Brian's scary stuff. When I really started getting into his music many years back I gravitated towards his more eccentric and bizarre stuff. The Fire Music was (and still is) one of my favorites.

I'm surprised Your Imagination wasn't included on Playback. I used to hear it on the piped in music at my local CVS pharmacy all the time, made me think it was more popular than it was.

Shut Down Volume 2- No more Dave, Al is back full time

I was under the impression that David was, in fact, on a few of the Vol. 2 tunes.  There was some overlap here wasn't there?

You may be right about that. Dave has always said that he played on the first 5 Beach Boys albums. But there's no indication from any source I have that Dave is on the Shut Down 2 album. I wish somebody would set the record straight.

Surfin Safari- on Surfin' only, Al plays acoustic bass and sings backing vocals

Surfer Girl- Al plays some bass, sings some backing vocals and did some hand claps

There is a great compilation out there called “Endless Bummer” and it is chock full of the band’s most dreadful moments.

I'll never forget the day I found Endless Bummer at a used record store in 2002. I picked it up and loudly said "WHAT?!?!?!?". I couldn't stop laughing at the song titles: Mike Sells Out, Mike Sells Out Again, Brian Hanging With Some Nerds, Kokomo Spanish Version Double Yuck!, I'm A Genius Too... It was the first time I heard Smart Girls. Definitely one of the weirdest cds I own.

My favorite though is the "walk with me henry" version. I really dig the fuzzy bass on that one. It's all wonderful to me

I just scrolled through about 40 different Wonderful videos on youtube and couldn't find it. I have it one of my boots. Brian (at least I think it's Brian) sings "ah-wowm pretty baby wontcha walk with me henry" over the music. And then at one point says "I need a drink of water". And it's got a real cool fuzz bass sound on it, as well as an upright bass, harpsichord, mandolin and jazzy drums which sound like their being played with jazz rake brushes. Real cool stuff!

I love Brian's beautiful crystalline vocal on the version from Smile. I also love the weird spooky version from Smiley Smile with Carl's vocal. My favorite though is the "walk with me henry" version. I really dig the fuzzy bass on that one. It's all wonderful to me

I'm going with Cabinessence. I've tried to play along with that song but just like what hideyotsuburaya said I've never been able to get anywhere with it. Shame considering it's one of my favorite songs.

He was a total gentleman to me and my girlfriend last year in Cambridge. We chatted for a little bit and he signed some of our stuff, even allowed us pictures with him. He signed my 5 year old's Beach Boys cap on another occasion as well. He's great to the fans. All the sh!t talk about him that happens on a daily basis can stick it.
