I don't think I've ever seen a photo of the original 5 man group of Mike/Brian/Carl/Dennis/Al from around the time of 'Surfin' before Al left and David Marks was recruited. The earliest photos of the Beach Boys as a group I've ever seen are already with David in the group. As obscure as they were at the time, I find it kind of hard to believe that there were no publicity or otherwise photos taken of the group before David replaced Al. Is this indeed the case, or are there any out there?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best way to go about contacting Beach Boys archivists Mark Linnett and Alan Boyd? I realise that they probably don't want to be bothered directly by BBs archive enquiries so this may be a long shot, but I'm asking just in case anyone has any pointers. My enquiry regards checking to see if they were aware of a particular BB archive item for potential use in future projects. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
Hi sorry for the big ask as a first post, but I was wondering if anyone had a list of which BBs live concerts of the 60s and 70s (so not TV spots, even if they played live on them) are known to have been filmed and of these, which ones still exist and their availability? Was wondering how much material there is of the group in their prime performing live in concert so I'm asking about the 60s and 70s only mainly (80s onwards isn't considered their prime by most and I also imagine that the amount of live footage filmed increases exponentially soon after that point).
The red figures the centre are obviously a portrait of the group, but I was wondering if anyone could definitely suggest whose faces are pictured in the bushes and clouds? Are they band members, or associates, or others?
