Hey c'mon everyone...this is not a release but a little christmas gift by uncle Mike, so what's the point in all that criticism?
Imagine yourself giving away a christmas present and having to hear what a piece of bullshit it is from everybody.
Remember what xmas is all about?
5  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Brian Wilson Tribute on: September 14, 2006, 01:12:04 PM
Just found this on youtube.  It's a tribute by the scottish singer/songwriter  Chris Rainbow.

Chris Rainbow (Birth name is Chris Harley, born in Glasgow UK Nov. 18, 1946.) "Dear Brian" was simply "A Tribute song to Brian". Chris is a Scottish singer/songwriter much influenced by the Beach Boys.Chris sang lead for "The Alan Parsons Project". In 1974, he had embarked on a solo career. "Looking Over My Shoulder" and "Home of the Brave" were his first albums. Five singles followed: "Living in the World Today," "All Night," "Mr. Man," "Give Me What I Cry For," and "Solid State Brain."

The music is very nice and there are lots of rare pics of Brian to be seen.

What's wrong with Brian doing all the vocals himself? I love OCA, but I love LY as well and I'll take anything that comes out in the end. 3D

Yeah, so finally we know: Forget about the 4 Freshmen and all that crap, MURRY was the real inspiration!!!

I LOVE this album!!!  There are one or two moments that aren't pure perfection - My Janine somes immediately to mind - so it's not a 5, but it's a rock-solid 4, and let me just add that if Brian were to tour THIS album, i would be at every single show.  It is sheer beauty...and the perfect Sunday morning album, too!

I'll be there too!!!

I like this album very much. they sound great. I like the "In Concert" better though, because that swings and rocks like this doesn't. But "Darlin'" "God only knows" and to a big part "Good vibrations" (cut out Mike's "dearly beloved") are probably the best bbs-live-versions of these songs. The rare ones sound very good too. I just wonder why the hell they cut the intro to "California girls" . How can anybody do that ?!?!
C'mon, In concert and this one are diifferent leagues, 69 is much more mature and I hate all the screaming on in concert

Yeah, it's great. I just wish Leaving This Town and Funky Pretty weren't included.
Sorry but LTT is one of my favorites, especially the ecstatic organ solo. I prefer this version to the original one from Holland.

My first one ever! Bought it back in 1975 because I liked Barbara Ann which was the only BBs song I knew back then.
The album turned me into a fanatic and I got everything I could get hold of eversince.
What a grat compilation! A Clear 5.
BTW I love the cover!
