It's extremely disheartening that this was happening on Brian's tour, in the same building the band members were presumably staying in! Ugh..
I would think they knew about this. Before the Pet Sounds Tour began, they announced Billy Hinsche would be part of the tour in some way. I guess now we know why. And apparently he was arrested on the same day as the incident, December 5, 2014. Can't believe this news hasn't hit the board (and the mainstream public) before this, especially in this day and age.

I don't post as often as I should, and as often as others do, but I've been a faithful devotee to this board, its previous incarnation, and other BB message boards dating back to 1998 or so. With all that being said, I'd say everyone should respect the line that Billy drew and, as a whole, let's just move on. Let bygones be bygones, and let's get this place back to being awesome with great discussions and input on the subject we're all here for. We're extremely fortunate to have the Honored Guests, and others closely associated with the BB community, that visit and post here and we should not take that for granted. We should all just let the trivial baloney go, and if it warrants further discussion, have it done behind closed doors. In one way, active members of SmileySmile are like a big family (as the BB are). It's understandable that disagreements come up from time to time. Just look at all the litigation and disagreements the BB have been through throughout the years. But, at the end of the day, we're here for the music and the appreciation of same.

Great show at the Sunrise Theatre in Ft. Pierce, FL tonight. Band was on as usual. Surprises for me were: "Add Some Music to Your Day", "Please Let Me Wonder", and "Wake the World". Pretty much a sold out show. Best BW concert I've seen yet, loved the small theatre atmosphere.
Two good shows on consecutive dates. Brian must be in a very good place. I've been aware of the BBs since about 1970, so I'm especially happy for Brian. He's been through hell and back, more than once. Your three surprises weren't played in Biloxi, not even at the soundcheck. Did you get the same show as I did plus your surprises, or did your surprises replace some songs played in Biloxi? We didn't get "Girl Don't Tell Me" or "Forever." PLMW was in place of where GDTM was played in Biloxi, and like KDS said Wake... and Add... were played where Forever was played. I was hoping that somehow they would pull out "Forever" but I knew realistically there wasn't a good chance of that.

Hi Steve, the sound is about the same, your version might be a bit "cleaner", but not really noticeable.....the excitement of the show comes through on both versions. And I always wondered what happened on Surfer Girl, when there was no Brian solo. Now I know....really enjoyed reading your commentary......I've had the CD for at least 20 years, don't even remember where I got it, but I think at a record show in Cranford NJ. The cover art is pretty cool, with a picture of the band from 1980 or so....Carl in his Green shiny jacket, Dennis and Brian looking washed out, Mike w/o a hat! It's entitled Surf Killers from the Philly Spectrum....pretty good.
COMMENT: That is really an insight. I never knew there was any art connected with this event. Why don't you post it for us all to see? I'd love to see it ! ~swd Hi Steven, for some reason I'm having a hard time posting the cover art for the CD; syas the file is too big, but I'm unable to shrink it. If you're still interested shoot me an e mail address where I can e mail it to you. Pretty cool photo.

Agreed and agreed. David singing "Getcha Back" wasn't as exciting as I had hoped this summer. Al singing almost ANYTHING instead of another Beach Boy takes the cake these days! I think he sang on Hawaii at the C50 show I did (Getcha Back was not in the setlist that night), and I think he does a better job on that one. Yes, he sang Hawaii and Do You Wanna Dance at the Merriweather concert and both were more suitable. Are you sure Dave sang "Do You Wanna Dance" in 2012? I remember early erroneous reports that he sang one other early-era tune at early shows. The Merriweather show was in June. But I remember tour post-mortems that seemed to confirm that the only leads he took on the tour were "Hawaii" and "Getcha Back." Every version of "Do You Wanna Dance" from that tour that I've heard features Brian. I don't remember the specifics, but I seem to remember that Dave was slated to take lead on DYWD for C50 but Brian kinda just took the bull by the horn and sang lead instead. I could be misremembering or thinking of another song entirely.
