Thanks for the info c-man. By what you and Andrew have said, maybe I was wrong. It just, I dunno, looked fake. But since you have seen the original 1983 sheet music and can vouch for its authenticity, then I guess that proves this one. What's really interesting is the change in lyrics for "Crack At Your Love": the original, copyrighted 1984 and credited to just Brian and Landy, is hysterical in its stupidity. The revised version, copyrighted '85 and with Al listed as a cowriter, is a definite improvement. Dare I ask...how bad were the original lyrics?

I thought it was better known actually. Brian in his own words tried to commit suicide by drowning himself. That's been reported in a few places actually, and it was touched on in the Wilson Project book. Apparently Brian went into further detail in some interview, but honestly I've never read that interview or know too much more about it. If anybody else has a scan, or remembers more, now'd be a good time to post!

Sorry, I don't have the magazine to hand, so this is probably a pointless post but in response to the other topic about BW's comments on a BB reunion I wanted to add that in the new Mojo interview, BW comments that he misses the Beach Boys and sighs that although his new band are great, they're not the Beach Boys. Of course this doesn't make the prospect of a BB reunion any more likely but it's interesting to read that Wilson misses his old band. Really?! Very interesting...

That's a fake, and a rather obvious one.
The song was copywritten in 1983....and it's in the wrong key!
I don't think it's the seller trying to scam anybody...rather, I think they were taken also and may not even know about it.

I think with the right producer, and contributions from all of the guys, they could come up with a nice album. Obviously, they know it would be their last chance, and I think they would rise to the occasion - both vocally and songwriting-wise - and maybe have a little fun in the process.
I wish it would happen, personally. It may not be a popular opinion, but to me it would provide closure.

To reply to some earlier discussions- I checked the Seattle Times and the BBs were indeed at the Kingdome in Seattle on May 22 1983 after a Mariners baseball game. All six members were there and that is the show that can be found on Youtube. The review -with photos-is in the May 23 Seattle Times. Turns out the Arizona app was on May 21 (it was a two day fest-but BBs only played first day). Carl was back in Seattle a month later (June 22) for a solo show at Parkers-to support his 2nd album. This is all updated and correct now at Bellagio. We also found and added a few more assorted shows to 1968, 1980, 1981, 1982 as well... I found a nice story about the BBs Feb 20 1982 app at BYU in Provo. Being a Mormon institution, smoking is a big no-no, but BW ignored all the angry glares and chain smoked a few packs on stage anyways. Exact quote "Other members of the BBs group tried to get Wilson to stop smoking during the concert and even took his cigarettes away from him. But...the piano player found more cigarettes during a break and continued smoking in front of the 17,000 students" Amusing
Wow...was there any backlash afterwards?

...Hell, Daniel Johnston's nuttier than a can of cashews (nice guy though, met him several times) but his fans love him anyway (and probably more so for that reason, but that's a whole 'nother subject). Same for Robyn Hitchcock...
Hitchcock does not suffer from a diagnosed mental illness as do Johnston and Wilson. I've spent some time with him on a couple of occasions and while he can be willfully eccentric (often for his own amusement - and for others who might get the joke), your suggestion that he is "worse off" than Brian is way off the mark. Eh, didn't mean he was "worse off", more like he has been looked at in that way at time due to his eccentricities, perceived or otherwise. Probably should've been clearer...my bad. Does anyone know if there is any (free) program that would let me check the waveform graphs of CDs i own?
I am curious to see what has been made 'hot'. Adobe Audition is one.

Hell yeah it looks staged. Probably because it is . The BWPS footage is obviously staged too, what with all the jump edits and all.
It's a shame that this has to be put out like that. Why try to make Brian appear to be someone he's not anymore? Hell, Daniel Johnston's nuttier than a can of cashews (nice guy though, met him several times) but his fans love him anyway (and probably more so for that reason, but that's a whole 'nother subject). Same for Robyn Hitchcock. Brian's better off than both of those guys.

I'm sure it's not the least surprising news ever...but I can't think of less surprising news off the top of my head. But I say good for him: having to be "on" all the time, acting to be something you're not, can't be any way to live.
Exactly. I never understood why he didn't come forward sooner. I mean, he's in the music industry, which is probably the least homophobic career path he could've chosen.

Not necessarily. I mean, the camera was RIGHTINHIFACECLOSELIKETHIS. He seemed more relaxed then I would be.
What I thought was funny was right when they started singing, the cab hit a bump in the rode and you could tell in their voices.
