when i started to listen to the beach boys my friends became to call me gay.
this is a demostration of mental disorder and how jerks and closed minded people can be
be beatles fan is like to be Real madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United in soccer: ferrari and Mc Claren in races, LA Lakers in basketball
be beach boys fan is like to be Charlotte in basket, Minardi in F1 or a egyptian soccer team
i try to say its easy to be beatles fan cause they are well-know
at live performances, the beatles shouted the songs, just see japan 66
the beatles are great cause they separate in 1970 what happened if beach boys separate after a false smile relesead or in 1970? nobody can say whats up with the fab four in 1985

This is a question for the truly fans and old guys. Was there a point in the career of the beach boys in which it was considered better than the Beatles? I dont know what happends in usa, bu i think they do not have the recognition they deserve around the world
the Beatles were very powerful commercial apparatus, which despite their music, the perpetual top of the world. the beach boys in my opinion were more a crazy band.
equally to every place I go I try to meet the beach boys
on my list, they are the first and best
Yup - 1966 NME readers poll: they edged The Beatles as the Top World group, 5,373 votes to 5,272. an in your personal opinion?

Side one
1. "I've Just Seen a Face" 2. "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" 3. "You Won't See Me" 4. "Think for Yourself" 5. "The Word" 6. "Michelle"
Side two
7. "It's Only Love" 8. "Girl" 9. "I'm Looking Through You" 10. "In My Life" 11. "Wait" 12. "Run for Your Life"
Damnit ! Ths would've knocked me out too ! Much more so than the UK-version which I have. Thanks for posting. an stupid question but, why two versions? im not a beatles fan Capitol were fond of cutting up Beatles albums from their original UK versions to make 'new albums' from the tracks cut off from separate releases - For instance, the tracks missing from the UK Rubber Soul ended up with tracks cut up from Revolver, and whatever singles they had just released to make an album called 'Yesterday & Today!', and thus be marketing a 'new' Beatles product. and the sound of both was the same? i mean, was capitol allowed to masteting the tunes?

when was the first time you noticed or listened to the beach boys? i guess it was five or six years ago. i saw the beach boys documentary: An American Band in tv by chance and in the nick of the time i fell in love then mike and bruce came to argentina and it was a moment i wont forget today im a beach boys vinyls collector, so if any of you want to give a present haha in the beggining i didnt like the 70s and 80s albums but now i hear everything An American Band was the way I got into them too. Heroes and Surf's Up stuck out for me. Then I bought Endless Summer and becaome a huge fan and vinyl collector too. This was back in 1988 and you know I knew about them since 1981 or so when I got into fifties and sixties music but it was the film that knocked me out. Nice to meet you MBE!! im proud when i see the little collection i have with a lot of effort. these vinyls are older than me!!! (im 24)

Different tack...
Suppose a successful ’67 SMiLE had lead to a trend in producer-led album releases, shifting the emphasis of the rock and pop world into making stars of the producers rather than the bands? After all, it was well-known that Brian was no longer touring regularly with the band and was instead staying at home to focus on studio work. It's not much of a leap from that to his becoming the acknowledged artist, while the band take the role of his instruments (was this what The Who's Pete Townshend was implying in the piece he wrote for a music mag, in the wake of Pet Sounds?).
That would have opened the route for Brian's work with Redwood to be released, and maybe a big hit. Instead of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper, we'd've had George Martin's Sgt Pepper featuring the Beatles (which probably wouldn't have been as unusual as it might seem, considering Martin's classical background). Spector had already enjoyed stardom due to his production skills; maybe SMiLE would have opened the door for more producers to be accorded either celebrity or artist status. Plenty more producers – Gary Usher, Arthur Lee, Curt Boettcher etc – could have stepped up to the plate on the strength of such an emphasis shift.
ok, but do you think if smile had been released 40 years ago, we would listen music of higher quality than today?
