I saw a few photos of him at home on FaceBook. He actually looks pretty good bald at this time in his life.

Ok, thanks, now I understand the lack of paragraphs

There is a song listed which I've never heard anything about, "After The Game " recorded 1/64. What can anyone tell me about that song ? It's listed in Peters Discography .

Ian, thanks for the neat information. Paragraphs would make it so much easier to read tho
83  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Do 'Older' Beach Boys Fans Appreciate Their Music Differently? on: July 06, 2016, 12:18:52 PM
Yeah, I was 16 in 1964. Growing up while the Band was growing up does put a different perspective on everything. All of my friends were hearing the new stuff at the same time that I was. Shared our feelings and thoughts about the new stuff. Also, without the internet, information about the group was very scarce. Album notes were read over and over. Every TV appearance was anticipated, watched, and reviewed with your buddies. Of course no DVRs, or YouTube, so you made sure you didn't miss it.

I suppose Trump has to fill the time somehow. They are having trouble getting any "big name " Republicans to speak at their convention . I guess the're also having Mike Tyson , that in itself should speak volumes about the difficulty in getting quality guest speakers. Maybe Trump can get them to sing the sleazy version of "Hey Little Tomboy."

Cheryl Pawelski is the one who headed up the second twofer reissue way back when. Or was it the first ? I can't remember. I was fortunate enough to run into her at a great cd store in Milwaukee. She was talking to the owner about her job at Capitol Records and that she was home for the holidays. She mentioned that her name was Cheryl. I asked "are you by chance the Cheryl from Milwaukee, who is heading up the Beach Boys reissue program. "( I had read that she was from Milwaukee somewhere ) She smiled and said that she was that one. We chatted for quite a while, and I jokingly asked her to send me the discs. I gave her my address and she sent me all of the twofers, for free, a few weeks before they released. She was also working on the Ricky Nelson catalog and she sent me all of those reissues too. To reciprocate, I located a rare local 45 that she wanted, but couldn't find.

Cheryl co owns the record company releasing this latest Beach Boy release. If she says it's happening, it will be happening ! She's a very nice person . I did lose track of her for several years, but recently reconnected with her on FB.

I watched a few episodes of this last season. I just couldn't get into it. I was a teenager in the 60s. Maybe us older folks have a harder time relating to how it is being portrayed on this series. I don't know....
87  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Pet Sounds goats - where are they now? on: June 18, 2016, 02:40:22 PM
I heard that one goat ended up on Green Acres, had an affair with Arnold Ziffle , became addicted to drugs and ended up in rehab. That's what I read on the internet anyway.

If you read it on the Internet it certainly must be true

Nice review Jeff. Good hearing from you again. Please post your website address here.

I saw one earlier today about David Marks being the world's richest guitarist.

After the article scroll down past the ads and read the "comments." Fairly brutal.

Yeah, most of the people going to the concert think they are seeing The Beach Boys.

I don't know if it's already be said, I couldn't slog thru all 25 pages.

It should be noted that after the mods became aware of AGDs potentially libel pms, had they not put a stop to it, they, the mods, could have perhaps put themselves in in legal jeporidy. Stranger things have happened.

95  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: What's your spending limit for a BB rarity? on: May 12, 2016, 03:50:01 PM
I paid 120.00 way back when for the Carl Wilson Japanese Cd . Not the reissue from a few years ago, but the original release. I found his other cd in Golmine , buried in one of those large ads with the very tiny print. 35.00. Those were the days .

I think at least Carl knew Dean Martin, Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball.

I've always wondered about how Carl's being married to Dean Martin's daughter may have opened a window of knowing all sorts of Rat Pack members. Could this be the connection that led to Brian trying to get Adult/Child material to Frank Sinatra?

Not to mention how being married to Billy Hinsche's sister may have led to Carl knowing Desi and Lucy. Growing up as a kid in the '50s, I'd assume Carl and the Boys would have watched their fair share of I Love Lucy episodes, so it must have been a bit of a trip if Carl later became friends with them.

What's the connection between Billy and Desi and Lucy ?

I hear they're doing double billed shows with The Temptations in the States this summer.

Unfortunately, this likely means shorter greatest hits only sets.

FOUR hours stuck in traffic ? Wow, how far from the venue were you ?
The Kennedy Center is just the Beach Boys with the NSO.

I might consider that show if I were in town that week.  I saw it posted in the BW Forum.

But, I also put out some money for the Guns N Roses C29 tour at Fed Ex Field.

Yikes...trying your luck with them, eh?

Much like 2012 when I knew I had my only shot to see Mike and Brian on the same stage, I know this is my only chance to see Axl and Slash on the same stage.

Granted, I'm in the nosebleeds (no way was I going to pay $250 for 3/5 of GNR), but I'll be there.  And I took the next day off from work in case Axl decides to not start on time.

Plus, it takes about a day and a half to get out of the Fed Ex Field parking lot.

That last bit I know with great certainty! Paul McCartney 2009!  LOL

I was at that McCartney show in 2009.  Was stuck in traffic for four hours trying to get to the show.  Luckily, Paul went on late, so we only missed the first couple songs.
99  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike Love Considering A Performing Residency In Las Vegas? on: April 06, 2016, 08:34:11 AM
Also considering Nevada is mostly desert, having The Beach Boys playing there for an extended period doesn't seem appropriate.

Just think of it as one huge beach !
