The real new info comes from Bruce, the rest is (likely correct) speculation

Is today the day?

Why would it be?

Historical data:

Last year's 1968 releases were announced and dropped on December 7th/8th.

"Sunshine Tomorrow 2" and the live '67 digital releases hit on December 8th, 2017.

The '66 live stuff - December 9, 2016.

Jeffrey Foskett Shares 'Voices,' Possibly His Last Album As a Singer

https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/8544409/jeffrey-foskett-premieres-voices

TL;DR: The longtime Beach Boys and Brian Wilson collaborator was diagnosed with Anaplastic thyroid cancer during early 2018. Surgeries and treatments have robbed him of one of his vocal cords and, essentially, the versatile voice with the soaring upper register that helped add authenticity to any harmonic situation he encountered.

Yeah that was a bit rough. They definitely sound better usually.
I wonder if they had to use the house engineer rather than their own.

I noticed they played the "early mix" ending of GV with the flute. When did they start playing that?

Pretty cool to hear about Bruce.

Interesting to note that nearly all the Beach Boys were in New York that night.
Brian, Al and Blondie at the Beacon, Mike and Bruce at the Bush gala and Ricky Fataar happened to be in town as well.
Apparently Blondie and Ricky (and Steve Fataar) bumped into each other in the streets on NYC! Photo evidence below.

Imagine if they all took the chance to meet for a photo op..

Anyone knows where Dave was that night? Smiley

Lana Del Rey's new single contains a BB reference:

I miss Long Beach and I miss you, babe
I miss dancing with you the most of all
I miss the bar where the Beach Boys would go
Dennis's last stop before Kokomo

I guess she misses Chez Jay? Dunno.

Also: at 7:39 you can see "Pacific Ocean Blue" in the jukebox.

Just got back from the "Beach Boys" / Ringo show at Ravinia. Jeff was there.

Is there a recent interview, or do we know of any interview coming out soon, where Brian might have said something he didn't mean?

"Rockaway Beach" is now on Spotify (Europe)

Great video and great to see Al playing few songs by himself.

Thanks for sharing!

the lyric there is:

I get weary, and sick of tryin
I'm tired of livin, and scared of dyin

there's more to the song than what Brian went with, but I love his take on this great American standard.

You are right. I couldn't hear them buried under the sound of 50,000 didgeridoos.

Reading sketch reviews here, I'm especially interested to hear "Passing By" with lyrics. It's beautiful song which could be cooler with voice.

Yeah, it's a rough scratch vocal on top of the normal track.  Rough, but interesting.

49  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: 1968 Copyright Extension prediction thread on: December 07, 2018, 01:49:37 AM

Thanks for writing down the Passing By lyrics!
My comments:

Warm nights, quiet nights
nights of livid dreams
so close you were to be all i ever needed
// in the first bridge I hear "so close to me to be all I ever needed"

Could this verse be:

Somehow I thought I feel the need (?)
You stay and build a nest with me
I didn't guess you were just passing by
