I've seen photos/videos of Brian in a wheelchair for the last couple of years at least. It's probably a lot easier on him. Like most said, don't read into it too much.

I understand that Brian probably doesn't want to spend hours over several days signing these books, but if that is the case, then you don't offer up these deals.  Period.  End of story.

I couldn't agree more.

I'd be happier if I was told "Brian cannot fulfill the request" instead of sending out some phony "signed" books and then lose trust in Brian's management. They screwed up big time and I truly hope this gets back to whoever thought this was acceptable.

The main reason why I am so vocal about this is because I want it to get back to Brian's management. It's fraud and also concerning to know that they approve of this behavior.

If you purchased a signed copy of Brian's book from Premiere Collectibles, there is a chance it may not be an actual autograph from Brian. While some of the books from PC appear to be unique and authentic autographs, there's a batch of them that are exactly identical and must have been stamped or auto-penned.

Premiere Collectibles is trying to sort this all out and are allowing returns and will refund the full price. They will email you a pre-paid shipping label in order to return the books.

The signatures are noticeably smaller than Brian's usual autograph, and the marker is extremely thick and bold. The photo I included is the signature to look out for. Many people have the exact same one in their books. If you bought a signed book from Premiere Collectibles and it looks just like this, initiate a return and get your money back.

Wow, this is a really big deal. How did you learn about this? Did you purchase a book via Premiere Collectibles?

I did purchase one from them. I noticed when I was on eBay and saw that someone was selling a book with a signature just like mine. I asked around and found out that other people had received the same autograph.

I posted on Premiere Collectible's facebook page and made sure they were aware of it. Other folks chimed in with photos of their books and they all looked the same. While Brian's management supposedly said that they were each signed by Brian, Premiere agreed with us that they were not.

31  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian Wilson 2016 Tour Thread (Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary Tour) on: September 24, 2016, 12:08:11 PM
Hi everyone.

I haven't heard any reports on meet & greets in quite some time.  I just got my e-mail for the Detroit one and it mentions no personal items will be signed.. only the 2 things they give you.

Is that a new thing?

Is it strictly enforced?

Thanks!

If that is the case, then wow. That is absurd. A person spends $500 and they can't even get a thing or two from their own collection signed!? Pure greed.

I'm glad you dig the tunes! Thanks for listening.

I used a service called Record Union (https://www.recordunion.com). Super cheap prices and very easy to contact.

I went to the Pitchfork show last night. I knew it would be a condensed set, but I was surprised when they came out and jumped right into Pet Sounds. The band was solid but you could tell Brian was tired.

As a younger fan, it was nice to be at a BW show surrounded by fans closer to my age. Many knew the album well and sang along the whole time, even the instrumental lines (ex: intro to You Still Believe In Me).

Overall a fun show to be at, though I look forward to the indoor shows I am attending in the fall. It was fun seeing John Cusack hanging out along the side of the stage the whole night.

Hey everyone,

I have just released a 7 track album that has been in the works for the last two and a half years. I record and release music under the name Cabin Essence. I wrote all of the songs, played most of the instruments, and produced it all myself. I'd appreciate it if you gave the album a listen!

You can stream the full album at the following links:

Bandcamp: https://cabinessence.bandcamp.com/album/a-place-for-playing-games
Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0wAZrQnbrJ8xCYmYF2tExk

CD copies are only $5 and can be purchased through the Bandcamp link!

Be sure to like the Cabin Essence facebook page too: https://www.facebook.com/cabinessenceband

Thanks for listening! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Considering Mike's reaction during the 1989 "Campfire Sessions" when Brian mentions the LBWL album, I'm a little bit surprised Mike signed!

Seriously, I'm sure Mike would sign most anything, as most of the guys would.

There's an interesting side question. Any stories out there of refusals to sign? Not counting VIP staff telling you not to bring stuff, etc. But actual face-to-face refusals?

Yes. I met Bruce two years ago and he refused to sign for anyone. I met him a couple weeks ago in Rockford and he signed all four things I had for him. For Bruce it totally depends on the day. He's strangely afraid of people selling his autographs even though things signed by him are hardly worth any more than if they weren't signed.

Not a bad price for a fully-signed 15 Big Ones. Signatures appear to be legit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beach-Boys-rare-autographed-vinyl-record-/272259474748?hash=item3f63ede53c:g:fEIAAOSwd2xXP2oP

The seller's photos are terrible, but it looks like Al signed over Brian's signature or vice-versa.

The listing is a trainwreck of red flag warning signs. Seller with feedback score of "1", and seller rating of only 67% (two positives and one negative, ever), horrible pictures, few total pictures, unclear and arguably incorrect description (Brian is the only still living member? It has the signature of every member "ever existing in the band? So Blondie, Ricky, and Dave signed it too?)

It's also not a very attractive signed piece as signed pieces go. Faded, thin ballpoint pen, etc.

The signatures look good to me too, even with the inexperienced seller.

At least to my ears, every vocal track sounds like it has pitch correction. Even Jeff's. I don't understand the need for it as they are all fantastic singers.
38  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: BBs headlining Memorial Day concert in DC on: May 30, 2016, 10:58:34 AM
The music was clearly pre-recorded. No guitar pedals, no drum mics, voices all pitch-corrected.

Hope this wasn't posted before. Mike&Bruce - "Caroline no" in Honk Kong 2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbGdfIDXnIQ

Wow, that kick is super loud in the mix. It was nothing like this when I saw them do it a couple weeks ago. It was much better.
40  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: A petition for Mike to include THAT'S NOT ME on: May 13, 2016, 07:17:16 AM
They played Here Today last night in Rockford, IL and it was great. They also added Caroline, No. That's Not Me may be a bit too high for Mike to sing these days, but I could be wrong.
41  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Monkees 50th anniversay - new album on: May 11, 2016, 09:08:15 PM
The pitch correction really bugs me, though.

It bugs me too, although at least it isn't as prevalent as, er, other records we know.
42  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Monkees 50th anniversay - new album on: May 11, 2016, 07:52:44 PM
All of these new Monkees tracks sound amazing to me. Stripped back production, enjoyable, fun songs. Who ever is leading the way on this record needs to get in touch with Brian and co. I don't hear any other 60s artists these days sounding nearly as good as these Monkees tunes.
43  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Scott Bennett discussion thread on: May 11, 2016, 05:57:54 PM
I just have to get this out...throughout this whole $#!tstorm, what's been going through my mind has been: Please, dear God, tell me Probyn and Darian aren't douchebags, too.

Darian and Probyn are a couple of the nicest guys I have ever met.
44  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Extraordinarily disappointing news regarding Scott Bennett on: May 09, 2016, 06:22:47 PM
Was Scott part of the Pet Sounds sessions that Brian recently recorded for Spotify? If so, I wonder if this will affect their release...

I'm talking about these sessions: https://www.facebook.com/aljardine/photos/a.329031750468900.73041.136456489726428/1050471824991552/?type=3&theater

I don't believe so, based on this (what I would assume to be) group photo: https://www.facebook.com/officialbrianwilson/photos/pb.34250497240.-2207520000.1462843277./10154029289597241/?type=3&theater

So.... did they do Summer In Paradise last night? I noticed "PARADISE" was in the setlist that Mike posted.
47  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Most embarrassing Beach Boys moment caught on tape? on: April 04, 2016, 11:13:41 AM
I heard that Mike and Bruce used to do some sort of rap segment during their shows in the 2000s? I haven't seen any footage of it, but if it's true, I would love to see it.
48  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike Love Considering A Performing Residency In Las Vegas? on: April 04, 2016, 08:04:14 AM
I'm honestly surprised they haven't done a Vegas residency already. Elton John, Rod Stewart, etc... do it.
49  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian Wilson 2016 Tour Thread (Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary Tour) on: March 31, 2016, 11:31:48 AM
I'm disappointed to see songs like Wake the World, Add Some Music and especially Honkin' getting cut already. Hopefully they are not cut permanently.

Those songs were cut for the festival show, most likely do to time constraints, but made their way back into the setlist for the Sydney Opera House shows.
50  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: I heard on: March 08, 2016, 08:51:44 PM
The Mrs. heard a "Muzak" version of "Surf's Up" at the local Mariano's last wek.

Anybody familiar with that version and can name the artist?

I work at a Metro Market in Milwaukee (modeled after Mariano's and owned by Bob Mariano) and they only play muzak over the speakers. I have heard Warmth Of The Sun and Surfer Girl, but I'm sure they play more that I've missed. I've also heard Junk (by Paul McCartney), Mother Nature's Son, When I'm Sixty Four, and many, many, other horrible instrumentals.
