Really interesting how the arrangement on Please Let Me Wonder changes from one night to the next. Probably because the first night was kind of off the rails.

Yeah there's definitely a modern day Brian voice doppelganger in there. Probably not Foskett but I wonder who it is?

Al should be singing Wouldn't It Be Nice!  He did a fantastic job with it on the C50 tour so on the Jeff Beck tour, I was disappointed when Jeff Foskett sang lead on it, it was nowhere near as good as how Al sings it.  He absolutely kills with it on the Venetian DVD.  I haven't heard Matt sing it though.

Excellent show in Manchester tonight, no idea how many songs but 8pm til 11pm with a 20 min intro. Amazing to hear them do stuff like Til I Die and Kiss Me Baby, and the mini Smile set of Heroes And Villains followed by Surf's Up was certainly pleasant...

I'm not a huge fan of the falsetto of JF, however I believe his natural baritone in the middle third is outstanding.  In my honest opinion this band lost its vocal prowess when Christian left the band.  Sometimes I would close my eyes and he could sound a scary amount like a young Carl.  It was truly a shame we had to listen to Bruce sings GOK all those years when Christian sound eerily like Carl and light years better than Bruce on it.

There's a lot of comedic influence in your work from songs like "I'm Bugged At My Old Man", "I'd Love Just Once To See You", and some of the Smile material. Who were your biggest comedic influences and how does comedy still influence your work?
