Very disappointed the Channel didn't last through the next box set coming this Fall.

According to TOKENHIPPIE, commenting on the Vegetables single on 45cat.com (23rd Sep 2014) https://www.45cat.com/record/ww261, "Brian [Wilson] produced both sides and he is Laughing Gravy the one who wrote the B side". Looking forward to hearing this jaunty instrumental in better quality than the currently available YouTube upload.

Works for me. "At Three Score and Five" must have been a real challenge.

Just noticed that "Untitled (Redwood)" is the same track as "Holidays (Instrumental Insert)," which has appeared on such "unofficial" releases as Harmony Friends (Disc 2) and Unsurpassed Masters. Vol. 20 (1968-1969) (Disc 2).
6  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Eirik Wangberg's biography: A SMiLE sessions Lennon & McCartney visit on: September 28, 2015, 05:11:25 AM
http://wogew.blogspot.com/

via WogBlog:

"In 1967, Wangberg finds himself in Sound Recorders Studio in Hollywood, one of many studios Brian Wilson decided to utilize for the recording and mixing of The Beach Boys' upcoming album, "Smile". Having already recorded the song "Vegetables" with Wangberg first as second engineer and later on in control of the engineering, the Beach Boys, Van Dyke Parks and Wangberg are there to put the songs together to make a coherent album when John Lennon and Paul McCartney stop by, together with Derek Taylor.  After having congratulated John and Paul with the success of their latest single, "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields Forever", Wangberg plays back "Vegetables" for the guests from England. After having harvested compliments for the song, Wangberg, still not sure about who is who of John and Paul, witnesses an encounter where Paul and Brian are both sitting at the piano, playing each other's new songs. "Sgt. Pepper" is still not released, so Paul starts by playing and performing "Fixing A Hole". Brian counters by playing and singing "Heroes and villains", and Paul answers with "Lovely Rita". Wangberg can still rewind Paul's solo version in his mind, he writes. Brian performs "Surf's up", before the party breaks up, John and Paul leave and "Smile" is shelved indefinitely...

This visit by John and Paul is not documented in Beatles history. In April 1967, Paul spent a week in USA with his assistant, Mal Evans - not John. During his time in LA, Paul did visit Brian and The Beach Boys in their recording studio (April 10, 1967, without Mal), and the story goes that Paul partly co-produced "Vegetables" with Brian, chewing a bit of celery during the proceedings, and also played "She's Leaving Home" to Brian on the studio piano. It's tricky to work John Lennon into the story here, but Paul gives credence to the tale in his introduction to the book. I believe more research should ensue."

Thanks for this. Very imaginative.
10  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: obscure albums by great underrated bands that paid homage to the BBs on: June 23, 2014, 06:44:53 PM
Get this one, 'Time Will Tell' is probably the best BBs homage ever recorded:

Never noticed this before, but "She's So Fine" from American Graffiti owes a lot to "Don't Hurt My Little Sister".

For those who may be interested, a couple of CWTL edits I've done myself:

A representative sampling of certain parts of CWTL:

CWTL from MiC followed by remaining parts of the Linnet edit, with the guitar part which sounds to me like a GV sessions outtake:

Don't Break My Heart vocal snippet + I Believe In Miracles:

Decloaking at last...in addition to Adult/Child, I'd like to make the following requests:
From A Basement on a Hill - Elliott Smith (the proposed double-LP version)
Celebration of the Lizard - The Doors (and if you have trouble getting sources on this, there's a guy named Ray in Texas who may be able to help...)
Look Back - The Beatles -this was supposed to be a volume of oldies covers culled from the Get Back sessions. Somebody seriously needs to do some heavy-duty editorial work and save anything good from the Nagras on this. Diamonds are there in the rough, but need cutting and polishing...
Surf's Up - BBs. This one would be tougher, since we don't seem to have any version of "Burlesque" anywhere.

Love your stuff. So entertaining and well-done. Somebody needs to give you a job doing this.

I've worked on some the A/B Road material. Here is an edit I've done of three originals:

Ughhh.... I want this so bad but I don't want to risk downloading from that sketchy website. I have had so many virus problems in the past.

Worked fine for me.

Another first-rate job. It's almost like getting a new BB album for Christmas. Keep 'em comin'!
18  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: SMiLE Instrumentals by soniclovenoize on: October 03, 2013, 10:13:46 AM
Hey thanks guys for the positive feedback!  Smiley

<...>

I will upload flacs as per your request in a day or two.  I am having some computer problems, and both my laptop and my harddrive are going in to be fixed in 30 minutes (that is also the reason for the hold up of my Landlocked reconstruction, sorry).

Really looking forward to this one.

Not only does it sound great, but it's a wonderful convience to have instrumental versions all in one convenient place. Excellent work.

Update: Wow! Heroes and Villains! What a revelation! Hearing things I never heard before!
