That one's sorta short, and I took a while to post it--I've been busy--so here's a bonus story. I think it's appropriate for the holiday it's being posted on. The website where I originally uploaded these stories was filled a startling amount of pornographic stories, and I felt I had to do something to fit in. This is what I wrote.
Imagine Carl sexes you and then Dennis sexes you and then Brian sexes you and then you say no to Al and then Bruce sexes you and then Mike sexes you.
Happy Valentine's, everyone.
I imagine that I'd probably be pretty sore when it was all said and done.

The NBA thread has returned!
I swear I read the other day that the Wolves were shopping Rubio around. However, this year's trades all ended up being BS. The only one that I thought for sure would happen was Howard getting dealt out of Houston. Also, I'm going to admit right now that I'm happy about how bad Houston is. I can't stand either of those guys (Hardin, Howard). I used to really like Howard in Orlando, and then he turned into a guy who was only worried about his 'brand'. And Hardin comes off as the type of teammate that nobody would want. Selfish, and only interested in his own stats.
Once Detroit figures out exactly where all of the pieces go, I think they're going to be really good. As in, top half of the East. Which for them would be really good.

I appreciate your words.
And with that, today is Bruce's story:
Imagine partying hard with Bruce on a Tuesday night. As he fills his nostrils with cocaine, you shatter a glass bottle on the back of his head. You gently pull him by the legs to an upstairs bedroom and await his coming 'round in a chair by the bed. While you wait, you being to rummage through his drawers and find a strangely accurate Al Jardine mask. You look at his check book and notice his last purchase was in Tijuana, where he bought a donkey for 349 pesos. He begins to wake up, but you hit him with another glass bottle because his personal belongings are very interesting. After a few more hits, he seems seriously injured, so you dump him behind a hospital with a post-it note that says “Blood gone” and call it a night.
Is there any chance that Bruce Johnson was actually Al Jardine in the first story, then? If he has an Al Jardine mask, then he could've been the one who you fed candy to.

In 1966, during the recording of Pet Sounds, did you really say what so many people think you said: “Who’s gonna hear this sh*t? The ears of a dog?” Didn't he say that again in the PS boxed set booklet/liners, when he said that is where he got the idea for the name Pet Sounds? I know that he's said it somewhere; and even then, I never thought that it was a negative thing, more like just being sarcastic/joking around with a friend. Like 'f*** Brian, we have to do another take of this? It was perfect the last time! Who's gonna hear this sh*t, the ears of a dog?". And then everyone laughs, because Brian's a perfectionist, and they're used to doing a ton of takes because he demands the best.

The OT is great. ROTJ starts to go downhill a bit, although it's ultimately saved by the Luke/Vader fight and Vader's redemption. The prequels weren't very good. I can remember leaving The Phantom Menace and feeling like 'maybe it will grow on me'. The fights were great, although the politics and, yes, Jar Jar Binks, ruined it. Attack Of The Clones was terrible, I don't think I need to get into that. Revenge of The Sith was the best out of all of them, although I still think that Anakin was a bit quick to go to the Dark Side. And Hayden Christansen didn't do a very good job of appearing conflicted, he just seemed more like of a whiner. People have said that Kylo Ren is acts like a spoiled kid, but I think he does a good job being unhappy in his position.

I'm a hardcore Star Wars guy, and I thought it was pretty good. My biggest complaint was the Starkiller base, because they could've come up with something a little bit different. Besides that, it was really good.
A lot of people bitch about Kylo Ren, and I don't get it. I thought Adam Driver did a great job conveying the fact that Kylo is very torn between being good and bad. He did a hell of a lot better job than Hayden C. did in the prequels. He lets his emotions rule the show, which is what dark side guys do.
It's funny, because people who hate it say that the only reason people give it a pass is because "It's Star Wars!", and we're supposed to like it. The people that like it say that the people who hate it go out of their way to complain about every single little thing. Why not just enjoy it for what it is, a really good movie that you don't have to take so seriously. As I said, I've loved Star Wars for 35 years, and I'm not going to sit here and analyze every single scene in the movie, and try to find things to be upset about.

I'm just disappointed that he wasted so much time on a song that wasn't that good to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I love "Fade To Vegetables". Although, the rest of it seems so out of place to me, it almost is like the pre-cursor to "Smiley Smile". I don't know why he'd think it would be a better single than "H&V", either. "Vege-tables" is far inferior to "H&V".

As a side note, Captain; sad stuff about Flip. He came to Detroit and did a pretty good job. Always seemed like a stand up guy.

I grew up in a house where you didn't vote straight ticket, you voted for whomever you thought would do the best job.
As a teen, I hated Republicans. Mostly for 2 reasons; the Gulf War, and the fact that in the early 80's (I'm 40, so I was just a little kid then) I was scared to death of being in a nuclear war with Russia. As I got into my teens, I came to the conclusion that Ronald Reagan was to blame for that, because he was president in the early 80's. Now, I'm not here to discuss whether or not that line of thinking was right or wrong, I'm just speaking from the mindset of a 16 year old kid.
Anymore, I'm confused. There's one part of me that, as I get older, my views seem to get a bit more conservative. At the same time, there are many things that I feel liberalism has to offer. The bottom line is, I still try to go with who I think would do the best job. The problem is, there isn't anyone.

The greatest point though is just how strange it is that we have no original lyrics for this song apart from the chorus. Has there ever been any recollections by anyone anywhere to suggest that anyone ever saw or heard of a lyric to accompany this song? Is it possible that they were just never written? [/quote]
For whatever reason, and this is just my personal opinion with really no hardcore evidence, I always felt that this really felt out of place on the album. As you said, the album seemed to be about Americana for the most part. I guess the album would've been Americana theme/2 songs (Wonderful and Child...) that deal with innocence and/or growing up, and some songs about The Elements. As incredible as that may seem now, I can see where a record company would go 'WTF is this?'.
As far as anyone knowing anything about it, a few years back I sort of just decided that the rest of the band had no idea how much of the album was done, or what any of the lyrics were, right up to the point of recording the vocals. If you read anything that they ever said about it (circa 1966) the only answers that they seemed to give were somewhat vague; I think that we, the obsessives, knew more about it than they did. I think they had a better idea a few years later when they were trying to get it together without Brian's help, but by that point not even Brian knew anymore.

I'm no Mike Love fan; however, as much as I get tired of him in every interview bringing up Brian's drug use, I get just as tired of Parks always making sure to make a snide remark or two towards Mike Love. It gets old both ways.
Parks is just an old, cranky guy at this point. You know, these people are human, after all. It's just like if your grandparents or parents had a twitter account. Just because he's a 'celebrity' doesn't mean he can't get pissed off, or have a 'bad spell', or whatever. If you got right down to it, I'm sure that the guy loves Brian Wilson, it's just that there are things that have probably bothered him for almost 40 years, and at some point you can't hold it in. It's just like the stupid Mike Love bullshit that everyone endlessly drones on about; Mike and Brian love each other, and a lot of their problems can probably be chalked up to their 'camps' and miscommunication.

One of the members posted on another thread that he was in the Capitol Records building in 2012-2013 and that two guys there told him that they've never worked with guys that hated each other so much. That's hated, not disliked, and probably spot on. I'm curious to know from someone on the inside, like Howie Edelson, if that is true.
I would consider Darian an insider, though. I would think that he would know the dynamic by now, unless he was just being diplomatic in the interview!

No one knows for sure. Or rather, those who do know for sure haven't said or aren't willing to say.
One of his pre-requisites to rejoining the BWPS project was having his publishing rights restored to some songs his name had been taken off of through the years.
In other words, credits and fair compensation mean a lot to him (as they would to most of us, I imagine). One might assume that something broke down along those lines.
I just finished reading Priore's book, and I understood the implication of the passage to mean that his credits to "Wind Chimes" and "Wonderful" were going to be restored to him after he discussed it with Melinda and Brian. He did continue with the project, and attended the shows, after all. Damn shame, if he was stiffed further Not saying that that part isn't true; however, I'd take a few of the things that you read in that book with a shaker of salt.
