76  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike and Bruce Tour 2014 on: August 17, 2014, 06:41:46 PM
Saw M&B this afternoon at Indian Ranch in Webster MA. As far as M&B shows go, this one was the BEST one I've seen (seen M&B ten times). Wow!! Great Concert!! Scott Totten was kickin' some serious ass on the leads, and Jeff Foskett sounded incredible! I was lucky enough to meet Foskett after the show. What a great guy! He autographed my ticket stub and even told me that he liked my Pacific Ocean Blue T-Shirt. Thanks Jeff!! Also I picked up a copy of the Beach Boys On Tour 1966 book which Bruce Johnston autographed apparently a few minutes before I bought it. Score!! I gotta tell you guys, the band was incredible today! Mike Love (wearing a loud orange shirt and matching shoes) was spot on. Cowsill was a powerhouse! I haven't seen the Beach Boys since the 50th Reunion, and even though I knew I was going to have a good time I didn't know HOW GOOD OF A TIME I WAS GONNA HAVE! The band rocked harder than I was expecting them to. Ambah Love joined the band for Darlin which was really cool. Bruce was his usual self, clowning around and making us laugh. Good times all around! Now that I'm home and in my jammies I'm going to enjoy my On Tour 1966 book. Have a good night everybody!  Cool

Jeff Beck can go get stuffed.
78  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: My Very First Beach Boys Release on: August 15, 2014, 06:10:01 AM
The first BB release I ever owned was Endless Summer on 8-Track tape. I was a little kid at the time. I remember that the cover/label was so bubbled up from the heat that it peeled off at the track listing. I played the hell out of it too. Then, I think in 1980, my parents gave me a vinyl copy of Endless Summer. Probably that same year I got my second BB LP, Surfer Girl at a store called Zayre.
79  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Why was Murry Wilson credited as Reggie Dunbar on \ on: August 14, 2014, 08:44:45 AM
Was it Murry himself who came up with name Reggie Dunbar?
80  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: mentioned before, but who was a fan of the Surf Punks? on: August 13, 2014, 06:53:47 PM
I'm a Surf Punks fan. I still have their Oh No Not Them Again record. I love 'Wave Spy' and 'Too Many Guys Out'. Those guys were funny. Wish I could've seen them live, but I don't think they ever came to Rhode Island or New England. They did an ultra fast cover of Ride The Wild Surf that used to crack me up! I wonder if the Surf Punks ever come out for the occasional gig like every other old punk band does.
81  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bootlegs from Making Waves on: August 13, 2014, 02:05:59 PM
I bought The New Album and the misspelled Califonia Feeling LPs in 2001 at a used record store in Connecticut for $10 each. I was psyched, never heard Sherry She Needs Me or the yucky version of Hey Little Tomboy before.  The sound quality on those albums are rough but I still love to throw 'em on the turntable. 82  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Our purpose here on the Board of Smiley on: August 13, 2014, 01:46:11 PM
I feel my purpose is to basically geek out over Brian Wilson and any other great musician I feel the need to write or discuss about.
With not having any hardcore fans that I can talk to verbally, this is my only way to talk about the Beach Boys & the reader/listener knows exactly what I'm talking about!

I feel others think my purpose here is to ask dumb questions and to be the last one to post on a thread at which nobody responds to.

What's up Punkinhead, I hear ya bro. All I wanna do on this board is geek out over BW/BB too. I've only been here for a year and have really enjoyed using this message board, but sometimes I shake my head at the stupid shite. I'm lucky enough to have one friend that I can talk to verbally who is a hardcore BB fan, but other than that I only have message boards and youtube. btw I'm a fan of your youtube channel and am subscribed to it. Keep up the good work and thanks man!

Sorry everybody. Didn't realize it would affect things like that. Apologies.
84  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: So what did we all do today? on: August 12, 2014, 11:08:05 AM
Lol, sorry pixletwin, I was enjoying my favorite message board with too much time on my hands today. I had a great time ranking, though.
85  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Robin Williams dead at 63 on: August 12, 2014, 10:25:43 AM
I pulled out my old copy of Reality, What A Concept today (I forgot that it was on Casablanca Records...at first I thought I accidentally put a Kiss album in the record sleeve). What a funny record! I love 'Shakespeare, A Meltdowner's Nightmare and Grandpa Funk! I might put the Popeye Soundtrack album on the record player later. Some of those songs make me feel sad though...
86  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: So what did we all do today? on: August 12, 2014, 10:20:58 AM
I spent the morning in the 'Rank The Tracks' section of 'Album, Book and Video Reviews And Discussions'. It's my day off and it's raining outside. At least I kept my mind busy, right?
87  Smiley Smile Stuff / 'Rank the Tracks' / Re: Rank The Tracks #28: Stars & Stripes, Vol. 1 on: August 12, 2014, 10:16:32 AM

88  Smiley Smile Stuff / 'Rank the Tracks' / Re: Rank The Tracks #27: Summer In Paradise on: August 12, 2014, 10:14:06 AM
Oof. This one is hard to rank because I don't know which songs I dislike more than the others. I only know my favorite track. But here we go anyway...

1. Hot Fun In The Summertime (I like Mike's bass voice)

the rest is hard to rank...

2. Summer In Paradise (the live version on MIC is pretty good I suppose)
3. Forever (well, because I love the original)
4. Surfin (only because I like the original)

oh man, the remainder is killing me...
I'm unsure if this order is correct for me or not...
best shot...

6. Slow Summer Dancing
7. Under The Boardwalk
8. Lahaina Aloha
9. Remember Walking In The Sand
