It's actually not awful.  Dopey, perhaps, but not awful.

In no way do i think it is awful, it's just a very random, but pretty fun song.

Not much of a christmas song though  Grin

GWB: Uh, Mr Wilson, I love yer, uh, song "Kokomo".
Me and Condi groove to it all the time......

BDW: Thanks Prez. I'll let Mike know.

Actually, there's a vid on youtube of bush talking about his Ipod, BB are on his playlist lol

Thanks to Dan and We'll Run Away for the kind words. It means a great deal to me (and to Dave) when we hear from people who enjoyed the book.

BTW..."We'll Run Away" is one of my favorite BW songs. I think it is so beautifully sung...and such a moving arrangement. Somehow Brian manages to blend Blues/Jazz and pure teen pop into something that sounds so simple, and yet is so unique. Brian's vocal in that middle eight might be my all-time favorite voice moment from him.Truly one of THE underrated Beach Boys songs.

oh no doubt, it's in my top 5 bb songs of all time..brias lead is magic

For me, Brian on 'We'll Run Away', Mike On 'All I Wanna Do', Mikes bass vocals on 'Got To Know The Women' And Brian Or Carl not to sure, at the end of 'Forever', to name a few.
6320  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: West Wing Joke on: October 02, 2007, 09:34:52 AM
I haven't consulted a transcript, but did watch that show when it originally aired. I thought there was an additional line in there ("Jack Reese got transferred - that guy gets around") that instigated the Beach Boys joke. For what it's worth,  I thought "The West Wing" was a well-written show, at least the first few seasons that creator Aaron Sorkin contributed to.

Oh that might be it...'get's around' lol

Thatnks a lot Roger.
6321  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / West Wing Joke on: September 30, 2007, 02:35:12 PM
Not sure if anyone else here has ever watched the west wing, but i was just watching an episode and it had the most obscure joke..and i'm just wondering if anyone here would get it.

It went something like this:

Josh: Jack Reese got transfered.

Charlie: Well, I've got my own Beach Boys song going.

Anyone have the faintest idea what that means?. It's a long shot, but ya never know lol.
6322  Smiley Smile Stuff / The Beach Boys Media / Re: A Complete beach Boys videography? on: September 28, 2007, 03:52:11 PM
Banana It is done. 112 videos in all.  I am now working with "the powers that be" on seeing where this "concept" videography is going. Since I am not in this for the money, I am only concerned with an accurate portayal of their music through the years. I have made it well known to the people that really matter, that I am NOT going to bootleg it. Why would I want to rip of the band I favor over any other? I am NOT greedy, and if something legit does come from this, I want only what they feel I am worth for putting all 112 in chronological order and making the creative menus, cleaning up and in some case creating 45 picture sleeves for each and every song. If nothing will become of it, so be it. But it is my attempt to give back to them what they have given to me over all the years.

Best of luck Alf64  Smiley

Teacher and student (wow, I guess the joint was good)

If anyone knows, could they tell me where and when this was taken??

That would be great.

6325  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Time for Today? on: September 25, 2007, 05:29:08 AM
I love the album, but there are some issues though with touring it, obviously because Brian's voice is different now. Most importantly, I believe that Brian Wilson, son of Murry, has never been a charity (however genuine and nice he is). Today! hasn't got the popular kudos of Pet Sounds, so would it generate the interest to sell the tickets?

Today's not generally as orchestral or sparse as Pet Sounds. I get the feeling having a big band with big sounds has been liberating for all concerned and allows the pace in the current set to vary considerably. So it's a bit of a tricky one, but I would hazard a guess the current setlist is as Today! as we're going to get?

i disagree, i belive todays!! status is growing more and more every year, but that's just me
