Happy Sunday everyone! Here's a little fanmix I did of the never-made 1974-75 BB LP featuring what is available AND not including Battle Hymn of the Republic. Also, I tried to fit River Song into the mix but it's too damn epic and it doesn't fit the overall mood of the record. Enjoy! https://www.mixcloud.com/gabriel-lamarche/califfeel1975lp/CALIFORNIA FEELING (1975) Side A 01 Good Timin' 02 Susie Cincinatti (MIC mix) 03 Barnyard Blues 04 Had To Phone Ya (MIC mix) 05 Rainbows 06 Good Time 07 Rolling Up To Heaven Side B 08 It's Ok 09 Pacific Ocean Blues 10 Back Home (1970 version) 11 Everyone's In Love With You 12 Holy Man (Taylor Hawkins vocal version) 13 California Feeling (MIC mix)

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Vintage Brian Wilson Smile-era edits/mixes?

Isn't it a bit weird that, of all the songs created by Brian Wilson during the Smile era, 10 songs out of the 12 in the proposed December track list had partially made mixes (Heroes, Worms, Barnyard and The Old Master Painter, Cabin Essence, Wonderful, Child Is Father Of The Man, Surf's Up demo, Vegetables, Wind Chimes, The Elements: Fire), plus two unknown listed tracks that could have been opening at closing of the album (Prayer and You're Welcome). Good Vibrations was already in the can and Im' In Great Shape is still the big mystery! Call me crazy, but im' beginning to think that the 12 tracks memo make sense.

He's my latest iteration..using Pet Sounds as a template, I closed side A with the previous single and both sides opens with the newest singles. 12 tracks, featuring 3 ''movements'' and an intermission (GV). Of course, all in glorious mono! Side A (19:30) (Prayer) (SS mix) 1. Heroes and Villians (MIC pt 1 cantina mix) 2. Do You Like Worms (SS mix with original fade added) 3. Im' In Great Shape (soniclovenoize's mix: Barnyard/GS/I wanna be around/Friday night) 4. The Old Master Painter (OMP/Sunshine/Barnshire re-record) 5. Cabin Essence (SS mix) 6. Good Vibrations (Smiley Smile Japan remaster) Side B (18:10 or 19:20 with ''You're Welcome'' at the end) 7. Vega-Tables (SS mix) 8. Wind Chimes (GV box mix) 9. The Elements (Fire w/effect BW mono mix/Dada GV box mix-no fire intro and no water chant) 10. Wonderful (SS mix with fade at the bass line) 11. Child Is Father Of The Man (SS mix restored to 3 min backing track original BW edit) 12. Surf's Up (SS mix) (You're Welcome) (SS mix)

Thanks a bunch for all the nice comments! I'll see what I can do with "Walk On By" but im' not sure what I can do that hasn't already been done in seltaeb1012002's magical remix. Unfortunately, the mix was mainly mp3 sourced so a .wav version would be pointless. Maybe if I can find all the rights lossless sources i'll do a second version.

1. H&V (Cantina mix to distortion/Smiley "my children were raised/sunny down snuff"/Bridge to Indians+C&W theme/Flutter horn)
I've thought about this, but never tried it. Seems like a good solution to removing the Fade from the Cantina mix and putting it back on OMP. Thanks! To me that's the only way for me to listen to Heroes & Villains now. All my favorite bits from the H&V sessions are there. At 3:30, it doesn't feel overlong with pt 2 chants and it doesn't have sections repeat from the Bicycle Rider theme and Barnshire fade. Maybe it's not 1966-67 accurate, but to me it feels like an exciting follow-up single to Good Vibrations that would have been a nice start to the album.

my preferred SMiLe for the moment is the 12 tracks one, with 2 sec of silence between each tracks:
Side A (19:22) (prayer) 1. H&V (Cantina mix to distortion/Smiley "my children were raised/sunny down snuff"/Bridge to Indians+C&W theme/Flutter horn) 2. DYLW 3. The Old Master Painter (Barnyard/OMP/Sunshine/Barnshire) 4. Wonderful 5. CFOTM 6. Cabin Essence
Side B (19:31) 7. GV 8. Vegetables (Smile Sessions mix) 9. Im' In Great Shape (GS/I wanna be around/Friday night) 10. Wind Chimes (GV box mix) 11. The Elements (Fire SOT 17 mix with sfx/Dada pt 1(sounds really earthy with the percussions)/Dada pt2 with water sfx/Holidays whispering winds tag with wind sfx) 12. Surf's Up
