According to AGD and his magic archive site, Ricky's last show was at the Roosevelt Raceway, Westbury NY on the 8/9/74.

For those wondering where the proof that Dennis sang on this at all: https://soundcloud.com/smileyhoneyfriends-1/ijwmfttdennis

That's taken from the 1st Vocal Overdub for the song, found on the SOT bootleg.  It fades out pretty quickly but you can hear a remnant of the track with Dennis that Brian recorded over for his lead.

So it's true! Right at the end before the fadeout, cool!  Cool Guy

After listening to the two CD's the last few days, I think they're brilliant! The new stereo remasters of the Wild Honey album for the first time ever are magnificent! You can really hear the quality of the instruments, let alone the vox, to the muggy mono original.

The WH sessions, to the failed live in Hawaii concerts, to other concerts and the Smiley Smile sessions are out of this world! The Little Pad backing track/instrumental is the stand out track for me. I've been waiting many years for something of that calibre regarding Little Pad.

The liner notes are just wonderful with great artwork/pictures.

10/10 overall for me.

I could only source and pre-order the new soon to be released 180 gram WH vinyl from Amazon.com. However, ST I pre-ordered from .co.uk as it came in cheaper.

Waiting on mine to come from Canada brand new and sealed via Amazon as earlier stated via this thread. It was a good job I ordered it when I did---it's over £70 now.  LOL
37  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Idea for Record Store Day 2018 on: April 25, 2017, 02:19:52 PM
I was thinking about how Bambu was released for Record Store Day this past weekend, and other Beach Boys rarities that could be released next year when I got an idea. What if Brother Records released a limited pressing of Adult Child next year? It isn't very commercially viable as a wide release, but could it be a possibility as a limited release? Record Store Day would do most of the marketing for them, so that wouldn't be as much of a concern either.

I'm fine with the pyramid scheme that is "Record Store Day" being confined to curio alternate packagings of stuff already out there.

I'm guessing one of the main reasons "Bambu" saw a release for RSD was because it was *easy* to do; the material has already been released and it simply needs some cover art and to be pressed up.

If BRI wants to release "Adult Child" (and preferably other archival material), while much more complicated than "Bambu" (which was essentially just a reissue of the second disc of the POB deluxe set), they should do a WIDE release of the material as a digital download and hopefully a physical CD.

If they want to then *also* churn out vinyl pressings and boutique cassette pressings and 10-inch 78 RPM pressings of it, etc. as well, then I would have no problem with it.
Agree with that.

a bit cool yep, they need a plaque or something to acknowledge that spot for being the place
of one on my most iconic pictures ever! a nice bronzed plaque of the album cover in that spot.

They do!

Ed, did Dennis ever write songs on a guitar in real life?

(I saw the clip and chuckled when I saw the portrayal of Dennis with a guitar slung around his back ... then I thought, well maybe he did really write with a guitar!)

I did wonder that when watching. However, isn't there a picture of Dennis with a guitar just relaxing, maybe an SG? We all know this one from Party mind....
