Which TV appearance is this? Amsterdam 1972? That's a picture that I originally scanned a few years ago (I recognise it immediately because of the folds of the magazine). Yes, it's from a Dutch performance. It's either the Grand Gala Du Disque performance from February 25th 1972 or their appearance on June 7th 1972 on the Eddie Ready Go TV Show (Hilversum, Netherlands) on which they performed (or playbacked) Mess Of Help. Probably the latter, as I remember the stage at the Grand Gala Du Disque being different from this one. And from the looks of it, it seems Carl doing a gritty lead vocal here, which must be Mess Of Help (definitely can't be Sloop John B or Surf's Up from Grand Gala) Thanks! A video must be out there somewhere, then. Al looks really uncomfortable without his guitar, btw

So I don't know if anybody else has really talked about this, but "Goin' To The Beach" was peformed by the Mike and Bruce band recently, and it sounded pretty much exactly as I expected it to, which is kinda disappointing. It's pretty much a bare bones rock 'n roll tune with beachy lyrics by Mike. I'm not sure if Brian co-wrote it or not, but if he did, it's pretty much one of the simplest sounding things he's done. I'm glad to get any previously unreleased Beach Boys material at all, especially from the '60s or '70s, but I have to imagine there had to have been better outtakes from KTSA. How about "Boys And Girls"? Or "I'll Always Love You"? Or Dennis' last studio drum performance on "Johnny B. Goode"?
Has the studio Johnny B. Goode ever been leaked? Sounds interesting.

On Amazon they changed back the release date. UK is now the 26th of August and US the 27th.
Just saw that the biggest online seller in Holland has put it at September 30. Also, my trusted city retailer has taken off MiC (previously set at Aug 27) of his release schedules altogether. My guess: it'll be Sept 30 over here. You mean bol.com right? I was hoping they had the date wrong.

At My Window
The harmonies in 'He came to my window'...so beautiful. One of the best harmonies the boys ever did. A very underrated song.
Pitter Patter
I just love the 'Listen to the rain' part with Mike doing the bass vocals.
Honkin' Down The Highway
Al's lead is one of the best he ever did. The synth bass combined with the subtle guitar work is brilliant as well. Great backing track overall.

This thread is so weird. My fault probably. What song, besides WIBNTLA, are looking fwd to on MIC? The live version of "Wild Honey"! I've been waiting for it for quite some time. Me too! Will be a rockin' version, I'm sure and probably has the 'Oh mama, she's sweeter'-part. The well-known video with Blondie singing WH misses this part.
