I hope the samples will never show up, because it would be very very hard to resist listening to them. But at this point, only a couple of weeks from the real thing, I'm not gonna spoil my surprise and pleasure with short low-quality samples. I waited ~20 years to hear some of these songs, I can wait 3 more weeks. I'll just have to lock myself in a place without internet connection once the samples are out!
I believe iTunes has high quality samples, but anyway, why can't I find MIC in the iTunes store? Is it because I'm from Holland?

Which song from the album plays when Brian has his baby daughter with him in the studio, in the Endless Harmony docu?
It's "Happy Days" (my fave from the record, btw), I well remember that studio segment. I also agree about the analogy with All This Is That. They're 2 beautiful soundalikes. Thanks man!

I'm quite sure it's from the Imagination album as they showed the album cover.

I don't know if Bruce made the decision or not, all the interview said was "big no" to California Feelin'. He didn't say why. It does seem odd that some Brian stuff was not used when he is absent so much of the time. Man if only the short Here Comes The Night was used!
The disco version of Here Comes The Night is an utter disgrace, in my humble opinion. It's so embarrassing.

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Heroes and Villains Über Cantina Version in stereo!

I knew my little cheat would be spotted on this board!
The major liberty I have taken is by using the BWPS first verse backing track to give the mix the ability to segue into Mike's "in the cantina…" more smoothly and also give the sound a bit more clarity. That's the only time I used it .
I used the rather good remix of Great Shape and Barnyard that was posted back in 2011 but I have lost track of who made that excellent mix, so a big thank you to them!
With regards to the sequencing I have considered the momentum of the track over wrestling with a true narrative because to be honest I've always thought that the order was always pretty much up for grabs with the way Brian was working back then. Also I wanted to include all my favourite parts that don't seem developed enough as standalone tracks.
It's okay, haha. Love it this way. The original drums suck, in my opinion. I've never really enjoyed the studio version of Heroes because of the muddy sound and horrible drums. I'll take any live version or remix over the original studio one

In my opinion, those of you who believe that Carl comes in with an expression that demonstrates that he DISLIKES the song are seeing something that isn't there. It seems to me that Brian is doing his best to come up with something interesting for chord change and backing vocal arrangement ideas in the "stay out partying all night long..." section and when Carl comes in he is similarly sincerely trying to work out / learn an interesting harmony in the same section. What I see Carl doing there is listening and trying to contribute something useful; being the team player and great worker bee that he most often was. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Apparently we all colour our impression of what is happening depending on our preconceived notions of what we think SHOULD be happening. I haven't heard the new version but I would be Pleased Much if I could as I am from Canada and US Amazon won't let me get the free track, but I have been watching this album making video (which I love) for over 20 years. I am looking forward to all the tracks from Made In California that I haven't heard. The arty ones and the cheesy "commercial" ones. Can't hardly wait! Edit Ha Ha! rockandroll beat me to it!
I agree
