1  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike November 1982 Jamaica Music Fest Interview Crashed by Dennis (and Gage) on: January 09, 2021, 06:36:58 PM
I have a copy of the pictures that were taken during this interview. The photographer is one of my best friends, and he was down there covering the concert for a well-known magazine of the time. I have a written agreement with him that I would never make copies of the pictures. I was shocked when I saw the video footage of this interview.

I've always been a big fan of " TUSK ", it has so many different levels to it that make it an amazing album to me. I've also been a big fan of Lindsey's work outside of the band. His one solo release " Out Of The Cradle " is a hidden masterpiece of sound and creativity.

By "one solo release", I assume you mean that one in particular? Because it's hardly his only solo release...his first two ("Law And Order" and "Go Insane"), in particular, should be of interest to any Beach Boys fan, but there have been plenty more since then.

Why yes that is what I meant, sorry my confusion.

Wembley Stadium 1975 opening for Elton John. Just to see if their performance really was that good that particular day.

I'm with you on this one. I have heard the recordings of it, and I would have loved seeing this show. I also wish I was older to have seen the first concert with the original members of both Chicago and The Boys. I saw them during the second time they toured together, it was good. But not seeing Terry, Peter, and Dennis on stage with the bands it was heartbreaking.

Kind of sad that I asked a question and no one seemed to respond.  Roll Eyes

That has to be the cleanest version I've ever heard. Does anyone have a copy of it they'd be willing to share ??

I've been a subscriber of this club since 1992. I can see if my scanner will work, and I'll do what I can in scanning a shot of what you are asking for.

With specific pictures I've made two slideshows using the music of the guys. The first one I did I used " Kona Coast " and " Lahiana Aloha " with various pictures of Hawaii. For a slideshow I did for my Dad's Father's Day slideshow I used the version of " When I Grow Up ( To Be A Man ) " taken from the Good Vibrations Box Set. For the longest slideshow I did, I combined " Our Prayer " / " Cool, Cool Water "  fading out with the end of " Wind Chimes " with the guys sounding like they are in an European church, I'm sure you've heard the ending before, and I fade out of the ocean flowing on to the beach. Sadly You Tube didn't post that one cause of it's length and the songs. If you want to see that one, you'll have to go to my Facebook page.

His loss has greatly impacted me as well as the countless fans all over the world. I lost two Grandmothers to this disease. May his soul be finally at peace, and his family be blessed.
14  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / The Beach Boys On Tv on: August 01, 2017, 06:27:13 PM
Back in the day when we used to watch TV, we had only four channels to chose from on the tube. UHF was like taking a chance, if you don't mind holding up two antenna poles wrapped in tin foil. By the time cable got to our little town in Metro Detroit, it was a blessing. So here is my question for everyone. Over the years I've noticed that in those early days it seems like either NBC or ABC used to really show off the band. When we got cable it seemed like either HBO or Showtime would air something about the band. I faintly remember watching the uncut version of " An American Band " on Cinemax. What channels and specials or shows had the guys on the most? I want to say off hand within the past 20 years or so it seems like ABC has the most appreciation for them. Thank you for your time to read my post and I look forward to your responses.

This was the first Beach Boys album I ever owned - I got it for Christmas 1983 when I was 11.

I still have my tape and lp version of this. Amazingly they both sound like new.

To me sometimes whenever I'd post something or want to reply to a posting, he seemed like an " online bully " to me. Maybe it's just me. Granted I don't post 10 to 15 posts a day or even a week, but still, I feel weakminded and dumb whenever I ask something or wish to address something. I sure hope that maybe I can overlook that feeling and wish to make a comment every now and then.

I thought Dennis' middle name was " Gage "..... I could be wrong though.
24  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Instrumental Hits (Japan Release) on: December 05, 2013, 03:29:50 AM
I got a copy of it in 95. It's pretty much all the instrumental works that were on a albums. The liner notes are in Japanese.  I like it. I often play it from time to time.
