So this isn't like most of the stuff that I post here because I don't sing in this band or write the songs... I just play guitar. I'd love to hear what people think of the album and my guitar playing.

There's two guitars, my guitar is the one in the right channel. Also I play bass on track 4 (the bassist is playing the guitar) and keyboard on track 5.

As an American I have no idea what any of that means.

aside from the abundance of guest stars (which I am not a fan of on any album), i actually really dig this album. one time I listened to fairy tale for hours and hours on loop.

I hate threads like this "you can't find Holland unless you know what you're looking for", well, okay, you know what you're looking for. Who cares about everyone else? Beach boys fans seem to have this theory that if only everyone heard their favorite beach boys album s then people would think they were really cool. this all stems from insecurity.

I think the theory with 'watchtower' is that the verses are in reverse order, if you read it that way, the story makes a little more sense.

all it takes is listening to any cover of a song with a Mike lead, to know that Mike added so much to those songs.

This is really amazing.

Pacific Ocean Blues is the best song on that album hands down. And considering that musically, it's just the blues progression, Mike singlehandedly wrote that song.

The past 12 months have definitely been a treasure trove for Beach Boys fans -- with a new studio album, a couple of new live DVD's, and two new albums set for the next few months. The industry release sheet Musictap.net posted that on May 21st, the band will issue its sixth live collection, Live - The 50th Anniversary Tour -- with the band's long-awaited deep cut box set Made In California set for August 27th.

I am going to write an ambient instrumental song and call it "You Are Phil Cohen and I Claim My Fourteen Cents".

Take a Load off Your Feet makes me think of an alternate world where smile got really big so instead of doing songs like "do it again" or "it's ok" or every song on summer in paradise, their idea of fan-catering backwards nostalgia songs is Take a Load Off Your Feet. It's the poor man's Vegetables.

Hope there's not too many guest stars. That always pisses me off.
