The song, it's pretty good. His voice is awesome.
For some reason, I was really looking forward to hear what the repeating three note guitar solo sounded like. I started laughing when I heard it.
I was explaining the whole story to my roommate about how this was supposed to be the last track instead of Surf's Up and she said "Oh, this song is soo much better than Surf's Up!" and now she wants to hear it again. My first listen was on headphones and then I played it again for her. So I've already heard it twice. I can't really see myself listening to it again right now. It's so long.

My posting history on this board spans a pretty developmental period of my life, from ages 18 to 25 (26 next week). There are a lot of things that have happened in my personal life that have really changed me as a person. Whenever somebody posts in an old thread like this, and I see a vintage Aegir post, it always make me feel really weird. My music taste has really changed a lot too. Until about four years ago, I disliked most modern music. If you had told me in 2007 that I would be a really big Strokes fan, for instance, I would have laughed. Child of Winter is such an awesome song and I cannot see why used to think otherwise.

Maybe I Know and California Nights are great. The only non-60s song I have from her is her cover of ACDC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap"!
Lesley Gore covered "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" Either you're kidding, or I really need to hear that! EDIT: Indeed she did - just found it http://youtu.be/pusgdcX2D54 Holy sh*t. the same album also has Herman's Hermits singing Billy Idol's "White Wedding" and the Box Tops doing "Call Me" by Blondie.

My guitar is the one in the right channel, so I'm playing lead on Daylight Saving, the Chuck Berry part at the end of Molly, the electric guitar on Sad 90s Pop Song, etc. I kinda like the really abrupt transition in Daylight... it's completely unexpected.
