1  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: THE ENDLESS SUMMER WILL CONTINUE AFTER THE BEACH BOYS 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR WRAP on: September 23, 2012, 01:23:54 PM
Yeah, I agree. I been following this all year. Actually also all these years of comments and rumors which lead to this year's tour. This fits that pattern. Its going to happen...... Oh, no its not going to happen.... (Brian) Oh I have no intention.... Than learning it was being planned for years.

This fits some fans simplified perceptions of the group to a tee. Too much so to be real. At most there maybe some negotiating deals behind the scenes for moving forward. But this is clearly manufactured in terms of what we are seeing. Maybe it will raise ticket sales or get the actual group memmbers a larger percentage of grosses from the concerts. "Hey look how much the fans want this to continue!"

THe band is likely enjoying all this attention and so am I!

Beach balls..... one hit me on the F---Ing head!!!!!

I hope you weren't in the hospital too long.

I was not going to mention this....but the accident I mentioned last fall was a head injury. I have fully recovered. The beach ball hitting worried me at first. It was fluke and I am fine. But after having a real head injury have something hit me in the head did startle me.

This was probably one of the best concerts of my life.

I had a very... Stressful last year. I am fine know but I was in a serious accident last fall. This was the happiest I have been in a LONG, LONG time.

I was actually in tears for Surfer Girl, In My Room, and very much on I Just Wasn't Made For These Times. That song has always had personal meaning for me and much more recently. I never had tears at a concert before. It was a mixture of happiness and sadness. I was seeing Brian Wislon signing my favorite songs!!!!!

On either side of me I had fans educating their guests on the history of the band and the songs! LOL one was a father to his very young teenager daughter. The other was other was man telling his wife or girlfriend. It did not bother me, I could just barely hear it and did not distract. If I had someone with me I would have done so too.

I saw Mike and Bruce's band in 2006 at the EAA in Oshkosh. Which was right around the time of the Capital Records roof reunion. So I have been following rumors ever since than. I have known of their music my whole life and had been a fan of their more well known stuff. But in been recent years that I have been discovering all their music and complicated history. So a chance to see this 50th reunion is a THRILL!

Unfortunately I am going alone. I bought my tickets immediately and I had no one willing to commit to go. But I have been talking about the tour and the new album to everyone I know. I think some of them are regretting it now. Its OK I got a great seat. As long as I am among fellow fans I am not at all alone.

I will be there too. Section 1.

I learned from a book on the history of Summerfest that the Beach Boys were the very first act who performed at the Marcus Amphitheater. How cool is that! It was Thursday June 25, 1987. A picture of the concert shows Brian was with the Band that night.

I almost think they should have made an arrangement before the tour that Mike and Bruce couldn't tour as "The Beach Boys" after the tour. "

Its very possible that was decided already. Them using that name was due to consent by the voting members. All it would take is one of them to not approve of Mike and Brice using the name alone and they could not any longer.
