Maybe because it was a one off for me and the music sure sounded like the BB. It's nice to be fooled sometimes, but the Finally word came out because some other song other than surf and turf made the commercial. Hope that helps you understand.

Walked in, drawn into the TV of Sunday Night Football. I don't know which mobile company, but the background music was I Can Hear Music. From the part I saw and heard, it was very well done. Took long enough, and it was wonderful. Anybody else catch it?

Last night on Real Time with Bill Maher during the New Rules segment, he put up that latest horrible picture of the band. His new rule, called Wet Sounds, dumped heavily on the BB. Among various other unkind remarks he said it was a joke that the BB say they have a new album out and who are they kidding. It wasn't fun to watch.

With the exception of the Holland album, I can't think of any Mike Love penned song that adorned and fortified a Beach Boys album. Sumahamina, Everyone's In Love With You, Daybreak Over The Ocean are all sub-par product that didn't stand up well against what else was on the album. Student Demo Time should never have been included on Surf's up but I can see Mike pulling a meltdown by stomping his feet, screaming and even threatening to sue someone if it wasn't. I think because of the times it needed to be included. When WMMS in Cleveland got a hold of the album, the first cut they played was SDT with a nice introduction from the DJ. WMMS was no slouch in the world of big-time radio stations back then.

20/20 - "The Nearest Faraway Place" Edit: well, it's ditty, trifle. Will replace it with "Bluebirds...", real spoilsport track in album C&TP - "Cuddle Up" LDC - LDC (dull start) SU - "Disney Girls" Shut Down 2 - "Why Do Fools" (ruins good album) Christmas - "Merry Christmas Baby"
I think DG on the SU album was quite perfect.

I've never seen this short clip. It is apparently the BBs and the Springfield landing in Dallas on April 16. They'd played San Antonio and Austin the night before and were supposed to play in Little Rock that night but the gig was canceled. It's possible they had a day off in Dallas or were just passing through.
I was at that concert in Austin and that night officially began my seeing them perform 96 times through 1998. 96 shows in 14 different states. Geographical states. Several, more than several, backstage. That's a whole different saga.

I would take a pill to deal with Bruce, WTF is up with insulting people at shows?
Billy and rubbersoul13 have firsthand stories of "negative" Bruce behavior far beyond "its all about the music" at M&B shows.
Please include me on this list. But my bad experience came in 1985 at midnight when the band was checking into a hotel. I knew they were coming and positioned myself to have a great moment. It happened as planned, except for Bruce sticking his head in my car and admonishing me for having my children up so late. We were 10 minutes from home. He is a strange bird.
