So, did Mike invite just David and Al, or Brian too?
If so, did Brian decline?
Hmmmmmmm.

You're my hero.

It`s interesting that only at the ELLA awards Mike thanked Jeff for being Brian`s `care giver` for the past 16 years. So this is certainly a curious turn of events.

Good point. I could see Jeff getting tired of being Brian's caregiver if he felt underappreciated and underpaid. Foskett was not just another supporting musician to Brian, and that had to be a stressful job.

I'd be Brian's caregiver for free. Jeff had the best job ever. Poor guy.

I keep seeing people post stuff like "Jeff Foskett is not on Brian's new album." Do we know that for sure? All I remember seeing (and admittedly I don't check this board every single day) is that Matt Jardine sang on a session or two because Jeff wasn't available. I don't recall ever seeing it stated categorically that Jeff hasn't been on any sessions whatsoever.

I also have to say it's pretty crazy watching all the raving speculation that occurs here during times like these.

Can you imagine how good Brian's album will sound if Jeff isn't over Brian in every track?

Can't say I'm a big fan, unlike my other half, but Chris Thile's solo album Bach: Sonatas & Parditas Vol. 1 was one of my favourite releases of 2013.

To each his own!
I love Chris and everything he does. He's brilliant.

One of my all time favorite groups. Any one else a fan?

All I know is that through all the years of mud they've drug each other through, they will always need each other, and it's none more clear than it is here on this song.

I'll give my idol the benefit of the doubt. We owe that much to him. I'm VERY excited for this!

Landlocked doesn't hold a candle to the Holland version.

Huh. Well, a little less than half the people on this thread think the Landlocked version can hold a candle up to the released version just fine. Including myself.

Good for you. Congrats.
Ever hear of having an opinion?

Will you make them all Al?
 LOL

Me too.  Watched it about a week ago.  Got it under the tree this past Christmas.  Wonder how many other board members have seen it recently?
Dave Grusin's music is great too.  Classic soundtrack.

I own it, and it's a wonderful film.
My fiance and I snuggle up and watch it from time to time!

Just had to post this from his Q&A on Facebook a little while back.

“What was your favorite part about running the Radiant Radish Health Food Store? What was your biggest seller?”: “The cash register — I learned how to do it.”
44  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike Love's merit as a singer on: February 11, 2014, 02:57:52 PM
Congrats to Mike.
He's simply one of the best. Well, to me at least.
The classic BB songs just couldn't work without him.

I was just listening to Mike's parts on Summer's Gone.
He does a magnificent job. Really emotional singing.

Love Simon And Garfunkel.
The Sound Of Silence, Mrs. Robinson, and Scarborough Fair is what got me into music!

Though like the Beatles, I'm pretty much over them.

Over them as in listened too much to them, or tired of the praise they receive?
Hopefully not the latter, because like the Beach Boys they never get the praise they deserve.

I have the Beatles USB and that thing is awesome. I wish the Beach Boys had something like that.

Dennis Wilson's grandson, Dennis Wilson, was born on the 30th anniversary of his death. Spooky.
