I adore the music of Frank Zappa. One Size Fits All is my favorite album from beginning to end, but there are many many great albums in his discography. There are a few albums I'm not so crazy about but even these have tracks I love.

My father would say Ronnie Milsap isn't country, but I'm sure he thinks Milsap is more country than what makes it on the radio these days. I like many of the hit songs he had in the 70s and 80s but I'm not such a fan of his albums or his more recent stuff. I know some people say that he and his like were the beginning of the death of traditional country on the charts but I grew up with him and always liked him. Anyway this is a Mickey Newbury cover and one of the best songs Milsap ever sang. If anyone posted this somewhere else in this thread, I apologize. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEwtbxd0Z6M

2zane7570: it's good that you notice & take various ideas from other artists' comps etc., but I'm no fan of Ding Dang (least fave on LY). If I were in your place, there'd be no way I'd add it in-between of every song on whichever self-made playlist. Just saying.
I agree. My idea was only a joke.

For your second one, I'd do like they did with the "Elvis Country" album. On that one they put snippets of the song "I Was Born About 10,000 Years Ago" in between each album track. You should do this with "Ding Dang".
Ding Dang Got to Know The Woman Ding Dang Sail On Sailor Ding Dang Funky Pretty Ding Dang Goin' On Ding Dang Back Home Ding Dang Mona Ding Dang Pacific Ocean Blues Ding Dang Dreamer Ding Dang Sea Cruise Ding Dang Student Demonstration Time Ding Dang I Just Got My Pay Ding Dang Mrs. O'Leary's Cow Ding Dang

All this assuming Mike was in the studio to lay down some vocals... do we have a shot of him in the booth ? Nope, just one standing behind Scott T. who is playing... something.
What has Mike's recent studio habits amounted to? Other than recording vocals, does he, for example, make a habit of showing up between live dates to oversee mixes, or maybe just to hang out with some buddies while he's in town? I have no idea myself, but maybe some folks here have a better understanding of how often Love swings by the studio, lately, and what he likes to do when he's there? Mike's a travelin man; he probably owns the heart of some lonely girl that works as a receptionist at the studio. I hope the receptionist doesn't hear about Mike's sweet fraulein down in Berlin town. Or his China Doll down in old Hong Kong

Seeing everyone's choices makes me realize (or re-realize) just how vast the released catalog is, and how most of it is worthy of boxed set status. I agree with most of the choices here! There were some that I would have mentioned as well if I had remembered.
I agree. At the time I bought GV, the only complete studio album I'd heard was Pet Sounds and I thought maybe the box would be more than enough to cover all the bases and would be all the BB I'd ever need to hear. Was I wrong... I heard the Holland tracks and decided to grab that one, since I found a used copy on cd that cost almost nothing. I loved it and then grabbed all the Capitol two-fers with all the bonus tracks and then the Brother Records two-fers. I've since gotten different remasters, compilations and boxes, etc. The only album I've yet to own is Stars and Stripes. I can't imagine that I ever will.

Please forgive me if this has been done somewhere else. I searched for a thread covering this topic and did not find. Also, hello to everyone! I'm a long-time lurker who isn't much of a poster but does read almost everything posted here in order to obtain as much BB knowledge and opinions as possible. Anyway, I love the GV box and I bought it several years ago as my way of hearing more than just the hits. Of course it only made me want to hear more.
I would like to know from as many of you as possible what you think should have been included on GV if it had one more disc. I'm not talking about tracks that we haven't yet heard...just tracks from officially released studio or live recordings. Also, the tracks can be from any era. The compilation can be whatever you want it to be. I guess "Let Him Run Wild" will be on many lists since it was not approved to be on the original box. Odds are I will look at many of your compilations and listen to them and gain a greater appreciation for a few songs. Thank you all for your time and consideration.
