You are so talented!  I used to have a truck and one of the speakers was out.  Whenever I played TWW in the truck, you could actually hear some of those buried guitar parts.  I remember wishing they were more prominent.

I don't know.  That part where Piscopo stands on the beach and dumps oil on the sand was comedy gold.

I was in a gift shop in Fredericksburg, TX that sells salsas and pickles and stuff like that.  The live version of Funky Pretty was playing!  I got excited and asked the clerk, and she said it was the owner's playlist and they didn't have any control over it.  He wasn't there.

That is cool- I've seen Cactus Flower a million times and never noticed it.  Funny movie.

I thought it was very interesting- I will always listen to guitar interpretations of BB music.  The first time I saw your post I wasn't sure what you meant by fictional discrete.

I am hoping we get a longer version of WIBNTLA.  I would like to hear more of the outro.  So spontaneous and different from their norm.  And while I'm wishing, a mix where the guitar solo is a click higher.

As excited as I am about this set, the next one should be even better...

Does anyone know if the version of Jumpin Jack Flash that is floating around youtube is the one that was going to be included on the original concert album, or if it was a different one?  From a legacy standpoint I wish the original version had been released.  Wild Honey and Jumpin Jack Flash on the same album?  All that's missing is a Dennis song.

Great question, one that I have asked myself many times!

1. A '72 or '73 concert where they played River Song, I've Got a Friend, Marcella, Wild Honey, and Jumpin' Jack Flash (if they ever played all of those at the same show.).  I have always wished they had released the original version of the Concert album with Wild Honey and Jumpin Jack Flash.  Might not have sold as well, but probably would have improved their image.

2. The Australian Concert where they played What I Say, so I can finally put to rest who is singing lead.

3. One of the Beachago shows from '75.

Really cool to hear!  I wish the BB had done an unplugged album in the early 90's.

Yes, I loved the clip of Carl on TJ Hooker.  Nobody hams it up like Shatner.

Wonderful job!  I love all of your interpretations.  You are very talented.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer the questions, Mr. Desper.  One of the fortunate by-products of the internet is that it allows for communication such as this.  When I asked about Carl 'wailing' on guitar, I guess I meant did he ever mess around with stuff outside the BB structure that would surprise us fans if we could hear it.  Carl's evolution on guitar has always greatly interested me.   I have read several quotes by people hinting that he wanted to be more of an improvisational guitarist, so I wondered if he did this in the studio when it wouldn't affect the GROUP's sound or expectations.

Anyhow, you answered my questions.  Thanks again!

Great song.  Yet another DW composition that should have been fully realized.  Would love to hear the studio backing track.  If the BB were a movie, they'd be the Magnificent Ambersons.

Well, sure: I'll throw a couple things out there.  I am curious to know your opinion of Carl's abilities on guitar.  I read a lot about how his ability was stifled by the group's image and having to play the hits in concert.  In the studio would he ever just wail on the guitar and try different things outside the group's image?  And in regards the to Flame album, would you say that the band had a clear idea of how they wanted the record to sound and Carl as producer just facilitated, or did he have more of an active creative push that guided the sound?

I always wondered about Carl playing on that album as well; part of me held out hope that he was responsible for some of the guitar work.  Great album for sure!
