It wouldn't open for me in Chrome but did open in Internet Explorer. Maybe try a different browser? EDIT: I see that you got it, but maybe this will help anyone else having trouble.

There may be a publicity angle to some of this to get butts in the seats for the Brian shows. Even if news stories run that say "Original Beach Boys" Brian, Al and Dave, that could tip oldies fans over into buying tix. There may be no need to actually have the legal rights to calling themselves Original Beach Boys; just get journalists to do the job for them.
Right now, there are lots of people going to see M&B with absolutely no idea who makes up the band, but they know that they are seeing "The Beach Boys."

My heart sunk when I saw the Philly venue would be the Tower - a scene I would most definitely not be making. Sulking, I looked through the other dates just to see where he was gonna be - and there it was - The Sands in Bethlehem - I'm THERE. The chance to see Brian again.....so psyched.
Not particularly thrilled with the Tower as the choice of Philly venue, either. That part of 69th Street at night gets more dangerous every year. Did either of you follow the link to the Tower site? The ticket pricing is outrageous. (Can it be correct?) Makes Bethlehem, while not cheap, look like a bargain. Well, they just priced me out of a ticket. I refuse to pay those kinds of prices. I did it once for the C50 Tour, but after just seeing the Atlantic City show a couple of weeks ago, I can't afford those prices to see them again. I never bought into the idea that the M&B show had comparatively lower ticket prices but I've been convinced. I bought tix for me, my wife and my daughter for an M&B show at the end of September for a grand total of $130. I told my financial manager (my wife) about the Brian shows and she said no way on those prices. Now, I'm trying to think of things that I can sell. (Thaks Wirestone for the note about the default at Tower's site.)

Show was for The Reach Foundation. Impressive charity. Lulu, whom I've never seen, was tremendous, and during the show, the backstory told, was that Lulu had "opened" for the Beach Boys back in the day.
As early as Dec. 1981 when they performed in Sun City, South Africa. Back in the 60s too I believe. Yes, they played with her in the UK on 6 November, 1966. (Maybe earlier as well?)

I think it bothers some fans from the perspective that airing the Dennis & Carl Wilson tribute videos makes it seem like Mike Love is still promoting his show as a continuation of the C50 even though 3/5 of the band aren't on stage. Now to be fair Al Jardine has made several comments in the press referring to the fact that from his perspective the BAD shows are a continuation of the C50 and nobody seemed to have a problem with that. Although granted BAD to my knowledge hasn't made any overt gestures in the manner that M&B are doing by airing these tribute videos.
It may be a case of the heart being in the right place but in actualizing the intention they end up pushing all the wrong buttons.
I genuinely can`t see how that can be the case in the real world though. The only people who will know about the tribute videos is the people who attended the C50 shows. Now there is no way on earth that they could look at the 7 people on stage when M&B perform and believe that this is attempting to be a continuation of C50. They would have to be blind. In the world outside of SSMB, many of those attending a Beach Boys show don't really know who the members are but are there for the songs. The video tributes were a cool way at C50 of "introducing" Carl and Dennis to many who attended. At the Bethlehem show, the people beside me asked who was on the video screens and wondered how exactly they were related to Brian. So, is it really so hard to believe that Mike just wants the audience to be engaged in the larger narrative of the Beach Boys and point out that they are, in fact, real people who performed these iconic songs? And, maybe more importantly, is it that hard to believe that Mike loves his cousins and the "tear in the fabric" of the Beach Boys is felt by him much more than we could ever appreciate? I intend to take my 11-year old daughter to her first BB (M&B, whatever) show at the end of September. If she gets to see the Carl video and maybe even the Dennis one, all the better. It's the only way she can experience that history.

I think I'm done posting here. Far too much negativity. I posted the pics because I thought folks would enjoy seeing some fresh images from a recent concert. Sorry
I'll come out of my typical lurk mode to say thanks for the pictures and notes about the show. Personally, I love that they added the Carl video and look forward to seeing them in September in PA.

This is obscene. There are far more important criticisms being made about far worse crimes being committed by the Obama administration but none of them are coming from the extreme right, from whence these particular criticisms come from, and the reason is obvious: the extreme right support the far worse crimes. Obama has expanded and escalated the war in the Middle East, radically expanding in Afghanistan and committing acts of terrorism in Pakistan; he signed into a law a Bush doctrine that legitimized the indefinite detention of American citizens, a violation of basic human rights that has existed since human rights existed as a thing; he has brazenly worked to attack freedom of speech rights with the Holder vs. Humanitarian Law Project; he increased global assassinations, which began under Bush; he vetoed a resolution to call an end to illegal settlement expansion in Israel/Palestine.
This is criminal activity on a scale far greater than any of the cases you mention. But there are two exceptions to these cases – one, as mentioned, the scale is far greater and far worse, and two, the extreme right support these far worse crimes. They supported them when their favourite leaders were carrying out similar actions and therefore have to avoid hypocrisy for critiquing crimes that they have previously supported but they also support them on principle – the principle being, I assume, that enormous crimes are acceptable as long as the United States is carrying them out. After all, Obama’s crimes are about as on par with any other US President since WWII. In that case, it is necessary to pick apart the comparatively minor and trivial “scandals” since they are particular, rather than general. No one could accuse a future President, for example, of being slow to call a the Benghazi attack a terrorist attack since it only happened under Obama’s watch. However, you do have to avoid condemning Obama for far worse crimes, like war crimes and serious breaches of human rights, since that is the domain of every US President. And this is why there's virtually no reporting on the above far more serious crimes but a field day on the trivial issues Bean Bag brings up.
I think you raise very important issues, but I wonder if these acts are "criminal" in the legal sense. One could argue the morality of these acts but I don't think that the Presidents broke the law, as such. In defense of Presidents Obama and Bush, I do wonder sometimes if we aren't being protected from far worse than we realize. But, that's just speculation. As to the IRS and Justice dept. issues revealed over the last few days, there may be some actual law-breaking going on. And, if nothing else, it smacks of the same paranoia that the Nixon administration operated under. I just watched "The US vs. John Lennon" a few weeks back and while it falls prey to hero-worship of a flawed guy, the cultural atmosphere brought out in it is very reminiscent of today. The political sides are very polarized and both sides see conspiracies all over the place. Like Nixon, did Obama run a "win at all costs" campaign? Maybe every 40 years or so, we need to clean house and re-set the game.

Thanks to the contributions in the youtube-thread we have now footage from Washington '85 (4th of July) and the complete Berlin '94 show (and as I write this I see that the same user as Japan '91 and Brian in Norway '07 online which I will update after having written this message). Since I haven't always posted here when I updated the list you might want to take a look and check out a few links.
The Brian in Norway concert is a tad painful at times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPNVknCRpTkLove and Mercy is really rough.

That said, there is one mistake I noticed: Carl didn't handle the lead after Brian - it's Al who sang the song. But all in all, kudos to Mr. Zahl for this fascinating writing! And thanks to whoislikegod for bringing it up to this board!
I didn't notice this detail the first time that I read it but it looks like the author changed it. It now says that Al took the lead.

You have to create (some) bookmark first, then change the URL in that bookmark by inserting the code. Then just click said bookmark.
I tried this (in Google Chrome with a new bookmark) and it gives me an error 414 ("too large to process"). I'm likely doing something incorrectly but I'm not sure what.
