Gotcha, what new evidence came out? I have "family" that live in rural Penn, worst examples of the human race that I have ever met.
I live in rural Pennsylvania. Your a cool poster. These family members I am talking about would be slime no matter where they live due to their white trash behavior. I hear ya. I'm surrounded by the type. Those of us who can appreciate the irony call our part of central Penn "Pennsyltucky".

Highlights for me: - Professor Lambert speaking about and demonstrating "This Whole World." That one really should have been the lead off single for Sunflower.
- The American Spring segment.
- Some insightful stuff on the Brian's Back era.
- Stephen Desper, Peter Ames Carlin, Professor Lambert, Domenic Priore were all outstanding. (Barney Hoskyns was interesting, but very quick to side against Mike unnecessarily. Bruce Johnston's stuff seemed to be hold-overs from the first DVD production.)
Complaint (Mild one): The ending was a cold stop and felt rushed. Somehow 1978-1982 and beyond were encapsulated in like 5 minutes (KTSA was not mentioned at all).

The Patrick situation was quite messy. Around 1986 or so, the band hired Bias Boshell on keyboards to back up Patrick, who had made it a point to randomly no-show at gigs. By 1990, three tracks into the Keys of the Kingdom sessions, Patrick quit and then sued the band, claiming years of unpaid back royalties and live fees, and also that the band had allegedly promised him the status of a full member. The band countered with the fact that Patrick had signed paperwork with the band in 1981 that listed him as a paid musician and that he would be paid on a gig by gig basis. He sued the band for something like $5 million and won, but only $125,000. Highlights from the trial were actually aired on Court TV in the United States - it's required listening. Patrick basically made a complete fool of himself, which probably contributed to the judge giving him a paltry fee.
Patrick remarked years later that Justin Hayward "would cut his mother's throat if it meant he'd get ahead."
Thanks! That's more than I've ever heard/seen before. It does, however, remind me of stories surrounding him as it relates to his previous bands (Yes, Refugee, Mainhorse) as well. He seems to be a difficult guy with whom to work. Our own Erik H. on this board met him and its quite the story. Yes, that is a much cherished, much hilarious incident If you posted it before, point me in the right direction. Or might you care to share again? I am intrigued!

Understandable situation by the remaining members, thought Mike should have had some input IMO. Justin and John are great keepers of the legacy at this point after ditching Tony Visconti and Patrick Moraz. I get mad at the way Ray was treated as a sideman in the 1980s by record company.
What happened with Moraz at the end? I felt that he played a pretty integral role in the 80s and then he was gone. I've not found much info detailing that period.

Heavy Rotation Right Now:
1. "In Concert" (Solid collection, though I prefer boots from that era.) 2. "Summer Love Songs" (I really enjoy this mix of songs an the sound is pretty sharp too.) 3. "Concert/Live in London 69" 2-fer ("Concert" is energetic enough, but I much prefer "London 69") 4. "Made in U.S.A." (Just picked up my first copy of this one to get R&R to the Rescue. Decent collection.) 5. "Isn't It Time" (the iTunes single. Really like SOS and California Girls. I'm less keen on DIA- way too much post-production.)

I just picked this one up and am enjoying it immensely. I bought the 1991 Epic CD and am now wondering if I should pick up the 2000 Capitol remaster? Can anyone advise as to whether or not the 2000 release is an improvement on the prior one in any way?

To answer the thread question, I'd consider going but I was really hoping the New Year would bring better news.
Still no reason it can't -- if the full band do a summer tour like this year, that would probably start late April/early May again, or maybe later. And this year Mike & Bruce were performing as late as late March. Excellent point, and to be fair to the M+B team, I was most positively surprised by John Cowsill and Scott Totten having never seen them before. So, I'd definitely consider the M+B show if life allows. And, Andrew, I am very much looking forward to your second book in the Beach Boys on CD series!

Just got this in email from Ticketmaster: On sale 10/1 at 10am. It would appear that they are booking dates at least as far out as April of next year.
