And I went onto the HuffPost Politics Facebook page HOPING AND PRAYING that one of their bloggers (they're NOT journalists) posted a story about this so I could rag on the libtards on there.
So true. It scares me Bruce said "our guy isn't any good", he does not seem to know about Ron Paul. Ron Paul IS our guy. He is everybody's guy. Ron Paul will win, I am sure about that, Mitt Romney's campaign will soon look like a game of columnated ruins domino.

I would say that Al is my favorite Beach Boy, most definitely. His voice is so good. He sounds like a grainier version of Brian to me, but with a slightly lower range. To me he could have been the lead singer on a lot of the early hits had Mike not been in the band. I always thought he would sound good singing the lead to California Girls, and indeed he does sound good singing it in his solo band even today.
Al's my favorite too. A nicer guy can not be found.

Really reminds me of The Lemonheads, or something! Not bad, I can't make out some of the words, though - how are you recording it? It sounds like you're singing it the phone or something, is it just your computer mic? And give your mate props for the track too. Thanks for your comments, yeah I just used the built-in mic. I will record my vocals again today, my friend will use autotune on me to make it sound better. Here are the words: I hear whispers from below Things I didn't know beforehand Made me honor poverty and cold When the dead arrive I will salute them too
She's so sleepy on the bed I don't even know her name We are friends it's just a deal we've made The thing about her name that's not the only deal we've made
Chorus We reap what we sow She harbors my own vessel in her own And so it goes on We're almost young and soulmates touching in the dark [a Brian Wilson reference] She wrote a letter, signed it "Joan of Arc"
Let heaven falter one more time Like it did in '61 God only knows what I left behind [a Beach Boys reference] A greater understanding of life
I wonder are you tired yet The sun will rise and then it sets On the hill where blood has soiled the faith Where mothers found their graves, where children climbed down a well
Chorus x 2

With the chorus of You're Still A Mystery I've always heard it as Brian on the falsetto (You're still a mysteryyyyyyy) with Al and Bruce doing the "tell me your secrets" and Mike on the bass vocal. I've never really heard Carl anywhere on this song.
That is what I hear as well, it is an awesome song - I have been listening to it for days now. I hope they release it somehow.

That's a good collection of favorites.
By the way, since no one else took the bait, where does your nickname come from?
It is from the SMiLE sessions, from a track that is referred to as "Heroes and Villains: Part 3 Animals (Master Take)". Remember listening to it as a teenager, thought it was cool they talked about Sweden - then I learned the Wilsons and Love have Swedish ancestry. Mike talks about that during his infamous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame speech in 1988.

Yeah, ABBA are my favorite band. I just got my copy of The Visitors deluxe cd/dvd with the new demo track last night. Tomorrow I'm buying my Beach Boys concert tickets for Red Rocks. It's sizing up to be a good week.
I love ABBA too. My favorite acts are The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, ABBA and Leonard Cohen.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned "Hey Little Tomboy", either of them! Okay, so a few people have mentioned Hey Little Tomboy. If by 'worst' you mean most morally repellent then HLT has got to be a front runner. The released version is bad enough - on lyrical terms (the music itself is okay), but the unreleased version is beyond the pale. Just listening to that thing... those hideous ad libs... makes me utterly nauseous. Teenage boys singing their romantic fantasies about teenage girls can be sweet (thus early Beach Boys). Men in their late thirties singing about teenage girls shaving their legs is just sick, sick, sick... and then those snorting noises... agh! It's a glimpse into some kind of hell, and I'm never listening to it again... Rant over. Normal service resumed. Personally I do not find any Beach Boys songs offensive, but if HLT upsets you you might not want to listen to Lazy Lizzie. Here it is covered by some guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo4viCn1cbwI have not heard Brian's original. Edit: I have now heard Brian's recording.
