This is the best & timeless: Q. What is your favorite movie? Brian: The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock because it had a sense of humor. Some guys car blew up and he got killed and it made me laugh for some reason running from the birds. Another common thing we share! I too find most horrors funny - the way they die, fight, chasing scenes (cue Freddy Krueger with hilarious "village boy" sweater running like a moron with funny growling). I'm glad Brian said it like it is. There's nothing bad, after all, it's just a film as in fake death - I was told that since childhood, just as I was that Father Frost doesn't exist. We need to watch film like a film, not to get into it too much. I often imagined film shooting as this - the director cuts the final scene - "Stop camera!" - & everyone just relax & go to banquet to see the result. No doubt they laughed during killing 'n' stuff. Brian is mighty cool. I was watching The Exorcist with a friend who hadn't seen it the other day, and when Pazuzu (sp?) the demon possessing Linda Blair spews his profanities, I laughed out loud. Not just that, his doll face is very funny. It's kind of a black comedy. There are some jumpy moments but nothing too extreme. I can see why the genre qualified as "horror", tho.

"What are you reading?" The Graveyard School series, author: Tom B. Stone. Current favorite - "Abominable Snow Monster". Back in school, I used to read horror fiction, going to library to pick what's available at once so nobody else gets to read them (rest assured, lotta teens liked scary tales). Wouldn't give them back for very long. That's me. Anyway, was nice to now find the whole series online. Maybe someday I'll download it. Just in case.

I seem to have a rival in the arrogance and condescension department. Maybe take off the blinkers & read my post again? What I said was fair, polite & raised many good points. Can't deny it, anyone who has decent reading skills. I explained to SurferDownUnder mentioning that this question should instead be posted in the Thread for insignificant questions or continued in an old thread on the same subject. What's so difficult to follow this advice, really? It's a common thing here, another recent example is "Carl's grave". Or "Keep It Clean with Al Jardine T-shirt" one. So take my advice, SurferDownUnder. I was really surprised to read these weird strong reactions to my post. Like I said sth. really offensive? Funny folk.

Essentially, posting is everyone's business, so I was and did mind my own business.
I said that to return the favor, hence the (c). SurferDownUnder, you made this thread to know if Bruce commented on the story. It's a mere question that requires a single answer. Looking at your account info, you signed up this year but have already posted on the Thread for insignificant questions. The original post belongs there. If you wanted to know more - for that reason this board has enormous archive that you can go read anytime. Look at the link I brought - it's basically the same answers. Nothing new. It isn't against the rules to revive an old thread. Recent examples: - BB/BW music in movies - BB Historical sites - Carolyn Williams. Each garnered few new responses. Reasons to post on an old thread are to add sth. new, ask about some quote if it's true/happened for real, to clarify some statement, just agree with smb. or start discussion. That's what search function is for. That, & learn more about the band. Most everyone here started as a lurker - as we couldn't contribute, we read on. Some of us still do. What I'm getting at is it would suffice to read an old thread on the subject you've been curious about instead of starting new one. There is a stickied thread in the Sandbox where we spoke of this - reviving vs. new thread & most people agreed that the former is better. And you have to understand that with all these new threads, the other ones go several pages back. "May" is relatively recent, yet it's gone far back. Some posters can't cope with the threads coming up on a near-daily basis. Finally, don't feel like you're not welcome. This is usual thing on the board. We're just helping newbies. Pretty Funky, John Manning, guitarfool2002 etc. - all linked to an already existing thread before. Moderators can't check everything, anyone can give advice to a fellow poster.

Again, from the movie "Christmas in Wonderland" (had to check the "Soundtracks" page on IMDB to find the right title). Billy Martin - California Christmas. It must be on iTunes, if it's not removed but it's very "BBs". Little Saint Nick meets Pet Sounds with a dash of "Bruce" vocs. "Merry christmas Saint Nick (Christmas comes this time each year)"="California Christmas time is here (Jingle bells ring this time of year)". Very good for a wannabe. In fact my new favorite. Check it out somehow. Found: http://fastmp3.eu/billy-martin-california-christmas-11366118.htmPreview is for Russia & Ukraine but download should work fine.

A very boring story here, but...I saw Katrina & The Waves open for The Beach Boys in 1986 at the Allentown Fair in Pennsylvania. "Walking On Sunshine" was the only song I recognized, but it did rock! As a side note, The Beach Boys played "Rock & Roll To The Rescue" that night...
Not boring the least bit - *I* never went to a show! To hear an opening act outbeat your favorite band, tho - not good.

Last week I dug up some Christmas stuff on DVD. Some very obscure, like "Christmas in Wonderland". It's about 3 kids & father moving to Canada from L.A. they went shopping to the biggest mall in Edmonton & found million bucks (fake). A bit trash but it had GREAT songs! My favorite got to be Katrina & the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIoWtw6jc-INever once heard it before. Not bad for an 80s song.
