Also a favorite, but there's a je ne sais quoi about Christmas Day. Al doesn't usually sing a lot of ballads, so that one just serves as a highlight.
What about Lady Lynda sans Bach intro version?

Interesting. Not classic Help Me Rhonda?

What's your favorite Al vocal?

Many people love him. He brought joy with the BBs. But...let's not forget Al.

Do you want the board to self-destruct, Mr. Douche Coupe? :D

Yes, it's about damn time! Clean slate I say!  Evil
You must be kidding - many fans despise GIOMH anyway.

Re OSD - afaik, Billy said that he got back because they found it was 2nd chance. So if he says sth. not according to rules in the future, it will be permanent.

People go and get back. If bgas didn't post for weeks doesn't meant he "left". This place is like magnet. If people quit talking and discussing members - and sure, I'm doing just that - it'll be nice here. News, books out, tour etc.
3934  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: What's your least favorite condiment? on: May 27, 2016, 04:34:52 PM
Pickle relish, ranch dressing, salsa etc. - I'd like to degustate them. ketchup and mustard barring, the shops don't sell anything.

The point is, rbb cried that Bubbly Waves supposedly leaves it for better place which Hoffman isn't. He said will be back. Seriously, can you beat the Smiley Smile board? It's the best.

Mr. Mott, what for this digging up? Afaik, The Cincinnati Kid, runnersdialzero aren't your friends. Agd - okay but why care about random posters that before bans you never did?

I checked in the past what's that Hoffman thing people talk about - board like board, nothing new, what's the big deal? It's like people get paid for visiting it, ha.

Hoffman is "greener pastures"? Who woulda thunk. This is best music forum, let's not kid ourselves.

Mr. Jude said it best. Shall we now carry on?

Thanks, Rocker. Curious what they played; which songs got the boot.

What's this crying for? He said he'll be back. And btw, it's Bubbly Waves, not Bubs.

Let me explain this just so you get it, KDS. rab said that he's OK with anyone who has differing view but added that for some, reviews that consist of bad language can be regarded as insulting to Brian. Just the way he sees it and what some others see. Then you find it strange and think it's not ever possible. Then rab again repeats his point and you again disagree but rather than respectfully disagree you mock his and bunch of others' reasoning for disliking others' negative album reviews. Instead of trying to understand them you make it signature to make fun of them. So what if they think so? Does it bother you too much?
3943  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Famous female composers on: May 25, 2016, 12:33:05 PM
Thanks for correction. I didn't hear these names before and thought you just know them because you're classical music follower. Usually, I assumed that only Russians known worldwide get the English translit. Can you tell your favorite examples?
3944  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Famous female composers on: May 25, 2016, 12:03:00 PM
Yes, check back.
3945  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Famous female composers on: May 25, 2016, 11:32:34 AM
If we're also talking female "classical" composers, two huge names that haven't been mentioned yet are those of the 20th-century Russians Sofia Gubaidulina and Galina Ustvolskaya. Both are worth investigating. Ustvolskaya's music is in a field of one.
Admittedly, these girls don't ring a bell with me. No way you could meet them on youtube as they must be written in Cyrillic. I assume you are classical music buff, right?
3946  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Pet Sounds Track Placement on: May 25, 2016, 08:12:34 AM
Why fiddle with perfect would be my opinion.
Because it's fun? Besides, it's "perfect" because we knew it this way. If the tracklist was different, I bet it'd still be "perfect". Don't doubt one bit that if smb. wrote exact same tracklist as of current Pet Sounds, many of you like here would say,  "No, I'd leave it as is".

Don't distract police - post next palindrome/haiku. Do you have cat? Maybe tell about 'im.
3948  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Who in your opinion could better have been a one-hit wonder? on: May 22, 2016, 04:42:15 PM
Sly & Family Stone. Imo they didn't top "Everyday People" goodness. Tbc

Well now you see why I don't engage in palindrome threads. Tongue Thanks, john, your posts welcome here.
3950  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian Wilson - Hurricane Katrina Phone Calls on: May 22, 2016, 03:39:44 PM
G'day, Mr. Lee. There is one member of the Smiley Smile board I found that Brian did chat with during Katrina. Enjoy:

I did talk to Brian during the Katrina phone calls. You could request a day and time, so I requested a Monday at 7 pm EST, I think. He called at 2 pm EST, and I hadn't thought of a question to ask yet. My caller ID said "Private name, Private number," and even though I've seen that many times before, I knew it was him and I got really nervous just picking up the phone. I was surprised that it was him right away, and not some assistant confirming I was home to pass the phone to him. He was extremely gracious and sweet. I believe he was gracious with everyone, but I sensed that he sensed I was nervous and possibly was also responding to the fact that I'm female (Brian has a soft spot for us, yes?). He spoke in a quiet, melodious voice. "Thank you for your donation." "No, thank you for what you're doing!" "Do you have a question for me?" Uh....[ask utterly dumb question to which the response is "Oh, are you  kidding? Of course I would have, yeah!"] Sensing that I'm nervous again, Brian asks sweetly, "Do you have another question for me?" "Uh, no... [what?? come on, Amy.] But I just want to thank you for making my two favorite albums, Pet Sounds and Smile!" [my nerves are worse now because I had the opportunity to ask something else and can't think of anything] "You're welcome." [awkward pause]  Brian finally puts me out of my misery in being so nervous-- "Okay, well, thanks again, Amy. Bye!"

The following evening, Brian (or whoever in Brian's name) gets on the blueboard. I type, "Hi, Brian. How are you?"
He responds. "Hi Amy. It was nice talking to you on the phone. Do you have another question for me?" My mind goes blank again, until I finally think of another dumb question. "If you had a chance to work with anyone, who would it be?" "Paul McCartney."   Oh, right. I knew that already.

Anyway, I will never forget speaking with him. It must have been hard for him to talk to all those people, and he could not have been nicer.
