They played "Drive" during winter holidays in 2006 in some local station. Strangely, liked it, even though it's not what usually I'd listen to. From the posts below it seems this band's diverse & that song isn't what they typically did - not much a fan of atmospheric stuff.

2 HeroesandVillains: it's understood you meant the song. But I'm with you - performing LGAFA live didn't help, it's still terribly boring.
2 Rick5150: agree with 1, 3 (about Susie Cincinnati), 7, 10, 13 to an extent. No.9 is interesting, will listen to Smile to see what you say.

Check NoiseTrade to get Steve Everett's highly anticipated new record "Central Standards". His debut was nominated for Album of the Year by the Independent Music Awards.
Kerri Louisa "Bring the Rain" (Aussie folk). The Marcus King Band "Live at Rockwood Music Hall" (psychedelia, rock, improvisation, soul & acoustic). The Trigger Code "Fathers & Sons" + Complete Discography (written by Taylor Sorensen, a "working artist's artist", veteran of the Nashville indie-music scene).

They taped many of these shows, though more to listen to and critique than with any thought of releasing them. This seems like could be standard for any band to polish their singing & playing to be better next show. Nobody outside the devoted fans would (will) buy this stuff anyway. At any rate, thanks for these threads, Mr. Rusten. I'm glad they're back.

I don't like both "Summer's gone" & "Pacific coast highway", couldn't care less if they say "goodbye" & how *it* should've ended the album. "Change sequence & see, you may like the song" - that trick doesn't work with me, either.
"Mona" is throwaway, ditto "Ding Dang". If nobody stopped Brian, they would take up the space of both sides of LY. Not unlike "Shortenin' Bread".

And Your Bird Can Sing is a cool song with a guitar line I will never be able to play! I've seen that video of Peter Noone. Great guy, I've met him several times, I don't think anyone else loves his fans more than Mr. Noone (you probably knew that Paul wrote a song For Noone.....for no one...)
"And your bird..." has 2 guitars, that's why. My favorite Herman's Hermits song is "Henry VIII". It's very catchy. Peter Noone is Beach Boys fan. He was invited in a feature about Brian, with some other artists. It was shot in the 80s, Brian ca. Landy II era.

Well then I agree with his younger self. What's your Top 10 White Album tracks, just for fun? Mine is:
1. Piggies 2. Martha My Dear (Slade did charming version of it) 3. Helter Skelter 4. Back in the USSR 5. Savoy Truffle 6. Don't Pass Me By 7. Wild Honey Pie (super weird but it's short) 8. Rocky Raccoon 9. Revolution 1 10. Cry Baby Cry
Can't stand "Me & My Monkey", "Revolution 9", "Happiness...", "Sadie", "Birthday", "I Will", "In the Road" & esp. annoying "Bungalow Bill". Why they feel the need to include wives & friends & various staff to sing? Tell them buzz off!
